"The company has instituted a policy requiring workers to have one day off each week, and limiting them to 60 hours of work per week, except in unusual circumstances (e.g., the Christmas rush)."
So if my maths is up to scratch, with one day a week off, that means they'd be working 10 hours shifts every day - with the company reserving the right to make them work more whenever there are "unusual circumstances".
How is this better?
though China is a capitalist dictatorship so I guess it's probably a 'good deal' by those standards... :-/
Do you join me in finding it amusing that Apple seemed to be shocked that their workers in China work in poor conditions for low pay? What did they think was going to happen?
