what films, in your opinion, have the best endings?
TAKE THAT, HUMANITY!
Get everyone concerned in a room with a load of guns.
fight club. buildings collapsing as 'where is your mind' begins...
back to the future 2.
lost in translation, although I did wish that they'd just get together.
cruel intentions, mostly because of bittersweet symphony.
and finally the fifth element, well, before the ending where bruce willis has to admit his feelings etc.
Also: Star Wars Episode 3. I hated the shit out of that film right up until "Nooooooooooo!!" Then I loved it. But 5 seconds later, the loathing was back.
"I know now why you crryyy!"
*gives thumbs up as he descends into the molten steel*
End of Days as well.
great movie. The special effects are puke-tastic. Fucking owns most other sci-fi films due to its horrific nature, good call.
thank fuck that ended
I felt an overwhelming surge of spiritual happiness and contentment when Leonardo Di Caprio slipped silently to his icy watery doom.
...and also when one guy fell off the end of the boat and clipped the propellor on the way down. I would class that part as one of my all time filmic comedy moments.
You remember that film about the Hindenburg disaster - that incorporated footage of the actual crash into the end of the film?
That was great!
The Deer Hunter
Good Bad and Ugly
The Defiant One
and thought ''Fullerov Says'' was a film :s
he opens the box, and inside is his wifes severed head!!!!!!!
he never actually opens the box
kiss me deadly
the wages of fear
his onions....would def say midnight cowboy and the good, the bad and the ugly
also i reckon the french connection, E.T , Rocky, Dont look now
..But on a somewhat more positive note:
Most confusing ending can be handed to The Edukators - for having two endings that imply pretty much the opposite thing. Not clever.
And, um, Lost in Translation
Shawshank redemption. Watched that last night on filmfour. Ace film.
The Matrix. I know it was sorta obvious but it's just the way things get worse and worse and worse, in the real and fake world. Then at the end it's like a ray of light.
+ oldboy - in a sick kind of way.
the camcorder footage over the end credits? they added that after test screenings, but i actually liked it better than the proper ending.
End of contest.
Although Butch Cassidy, Dr Strangelove, Night of the Living Dead and Sanjuro all have incredible endings.
i forgot the ACTUAL best ending of all time - escape from new york.
