for me, I don't know why the advertising executives decided "more seizure-inducing flashy shit = more sales".
that take over the entire page then you have to wait for them to go away because the close button won't work. I don't know how companies advertising in this way will make people buy stuff.
Apart from the well-known marketing technique of annoying someone into submission.
You can tell they're the division 2 advertising folks. Right alongside animal rights nuts who think showing you a picture of a mutilated puppy will inspire you to join them in their fight against vivisection labs.
It never occurs to them that few people want to hang out with people who make posters of mutilated puppy.
