Are these totally out of fashion now?
tapers black jeans shouldn't be worn by fat arsed emo kids - they look like council house women in leggings in the early nineties - be aware of this.
dungarees are the new flares. If you haven't got a pair of dungarees you're nobody these days
I'm aware narrow jeans are in fashion, but I hate them. Not good on someone my height, unless narrow ankles and large chunky legs are in fashion too...
At least you have hips and body shape to work with. Below the broad shoulders it's like men weren't awarded any body shape at ALL.
you've got a GREAT arse
are a total '70s fashion fad. I find it very odd that people now consider them as the norm. Straight leg trousers don't need to be skin-tight! or even skinny! They are the correct attire for a gentleman.
but skinny jeans are just wrong wrong wrong.
for those of us with an arse it somewhat limits your choice - suit trousers always taper unless you find a really good one - I wish I was skelator sometimes
Seems like a good perk.
skinny jeans are SO over.
I've always worn 'em and always will!
You'll be carrying yours around for weeks.
That exchange rules.
are the item of clothing I have the most trouble buying. Every pair I try on there is always something I don't like about them.
My best pair ever was some Levis 580s, which were a cross between loose fit and flared. They got a rip in a rather unfortunate place and I've never been able to find another pair since :(
Most shops only have a few bootcut pairs so it's really just about picking the ones that are the least 'distressed'. All jeans feel funny for a bit but then you get used to the fit and it's all fiiiiine.
I have to go to Manchester, because nowhere stocks them in Burnley.
But after that its easy. Topman sell drainpipes again now, and then you have Affleck's and Pop Boutique.
If I wear flares will I 'Step On' them? thus fraying them?
pisses me the hell off, I have got some lovely gap ones which are low cut and straight leg which you just can't find anymore. otherwise i head towards a skinnier type of jean.
i-deserve? He is the skinny jean king!
I put mine on yesterday for the first time since Christmas and I felt like I was wearing a dress.
for boys, who have absolutely no shape
women should not wear them, because they emphasise big bums and hips, and noone with chunky legs should either
really, the public is awfully dressed
But I mean, I bet you've said 'this tastes like shit' in the past?
and i don't THINK i've ever eaten a poo.
to come on and say 'Are you forgetting our meeting last night John'*
He muust be on lunch.
(poo sandwich and pooshake)
Nobody gives them any attention and they should just be seen as an accompaniment to whatever else you're wearing.
Baggy BHS jeans for me!
It's all about tops and shoes and ACCESSORIES. But never trousers.
but i'm intensely right.
and a nice variation is always welcome but they're rubbish and boring and if they are interesting it's usually at the expense of style/good taste.
using them to highlight the positive aspects of your legs & having a good fit.
There is nothing I could care less about.
They don't have to be "interesting". Just stylish. Good taste and style are the first victims of sartorial ambivalence. I'm not saying we should all wear candy-striped bell-bottoms! What you are advocating suggests that we should all have just one pair of baggy BHS jeans each. I beg to differ!
I find it hard to care for reasons stated above. I don't relate to style according to fit and it's more effort trying to find good trousers and they tend to be expensive too.
I dont think everyone should wear baggy BHS jeans but I don't think it's worth such rigorous discussion as it is, essentially, dull as DITCHWATER.
I prefer tops et al as they have so much more scope so they can be understatedly stylish (as is probably the only possible way with trousers) or bright or whatever.
But I can never dress in something that I know is absolutely doing my shap eno favours (unless weather dictates - hence why I own a skirt above my knees) - and I assume other people feel the same. Because who doesn't want to be gorgeous? And I don't mean to be superifical.
Trousers are just as visible as tops!
designs look dreadful on them.
That I like colours and designs is basically the crux of it.
It's cos I am/was a mod. We are a bit obsessed with trousers...! :D
unless your Devendra Banhart.
This makes me wonder what happens when skinny fit jeans go out of fashion?
they all went to the charity shop. my jeans are either butcut or skinny fit
A pair of jeans thats straight cut but NOT skinny?
I don't want to look like I listen to Fall Out Boy, but boot-cuts/flares are just wrong.
Were Teddy Boys emu, or punks?
Well said, Wrighty.
This problem applies to ties as well. Everyone seems to have decided that ties should be fat. Fat ties were fashionable in the 1940s and the 1970s. After the 8os craze for skinny ties, everyone back-lashed with fatties again and we haven't changed since (hence why Beckham and the footballers' wives had to take 'knot-size' to ludicrous extremes)! Why?? It's still impossible to buy new slim ties apart from as a 'fashion item'. I'm not talking slim jim/1-inch ties - just reasonably sized non-kipper-shaped NORMAL ties as they are supposed to be made!
is acceptable, but flares? WHY?
