does anyone know of any good 30-60 GB non-ipod mp3 players?
And to answer your question, creative zen or something like that.
i had a 20GB one, and it filled up and stuff, AND it got lost/stolen, and it's battery life was pretty dire
creative zen eh? i'll inquire
ipods are notoriously unreliable and overpriced.
creative zen or iriver.
It's a bit big but I've had it two years with no problems, good battery life, easy to use etc...
irivers are the way forward.
go go go go go
Everyone I know has owned an ipod that has broken within a year of owning it. They rely on itunes which is shit. You are paying for the brand. There are cheaper and better alternatives.
it is 40gb. I bought one the other day after my i-river committed suicide on me.
It has its own charm. it resembles a cassette player. it has zero "street cred" but then again "street cred" can piss right off for all i care.
Trust me, it works! i like it! Ventuuuurer! Ventuuuurer!
i think it's the last one in the whole of Argos' Nottingham stores!
It's actually decent build quality. The headphones are clearly cheapo types, but the unit itself seems pretty robust.
And it is SO much like an old tape player. I love it! :D
It says it takes up to 12 hours to complete its first charge though, which is a bit of an arse.
I'm gonna get me one of them!
not that i NEED a 60GB one, i just hate the idea of having to decide what music not to put onto my player (as sad as that sounds)
that looks lovely, but within a matter on months it'd be full!
that looks pretty cool too but a tad hefty
that retoro one looks pretty cute yeah, but i doubt i'd ever trust something that claims to be 40GB at that price first hand ;)
because win 98 wont autodetect it. It will work with XP without any software.
Now I restrict it to albums I've only recently got and stuff I happen to be into, meaning I listen to stuff that needs listening to that I might otherwise have forgotten about and don't just stick to the same old Dylan and Radiohead stuff that I know and love. This method is also good for getting back into stuff you haven't heard for a while and I also use my iriver to put uni work on and stuff.
and it's more than good enough for me. Also has a recording function with a built in mic which is great for getting little parts of songs and riffs that would otherwise have been forgotten. If you position the mic well the sound quality is fine.
trust me i've windows xp. its working wonders for me right now! if you're quite poor like me then i'd so go for this. 3 year warranty. ah i'm too tired to explain its AMAZINGNESS
You'll just look silly without one!
that approach might just work. come to think of it when i had my old ipod i only ever listened to a select bunch of songs very often, as i mainly used it when on the way to places, when long instrumental stuff wasn't needed. way more cost-effective too, cheers.
what's the battery life like?
seriously, its so uncool its cool, read the reviews if you dont believe me. you can google them somehow. The only downside i can think of is you cant really stroll with it in your pocket because people will think you've either got a
3. bomb made of hernia
strapped to your leg. but its ace for long train journeys, walking to work, sitting in your room, EVERYTHING
don't worry, you had me at 'hello'
some music... And putting all my new cds on my mp3.
mp3? that's stoopid. I get by with my 512mb one
this is the point where everyone tells me I'm an idiot, but I have one of those gorgeous sony 20gb jobbys. I think it is fantastic. I have to charge it about once every 4-5 days, and I use it a lot. I know the software can be an arse, but after sorting it all out properlya nd fiddling with it for a day or so, I've had no problems of note with it. Plus as its sony format you record in you cna get a shitload of songs on in very little memory space. and it looks unbelievably fit.
irivers are awesome, my housemate has one and its stylish and good quality, and the software is very easy to use
