Time's a changing and due to the seductive (not to mention destructive) forces of music management our singer has decided to pursue a role in a (to be honest bullshit) role in a put together label act.
For us this is close to heresy.
Rather than give up we've decided to go away rediscover who we are.
Currently we've played with some great acts, such as the heights, the crimea and other such acts from the indie circuit.
We love and adore a variety acts and live to create something enduring and beautiful. We listen to and enjoy a wide variety of acts from genres ranging far and wide.
Radiohead, pj harvey, bjork, jeff buckley, bloc party, elbow, the smiths, sonic youth, david bowie, smashing pumpkins, gulliemots, mogwai, slint, duke spirit, sigur ros television, joni mitchell, patti smith, battles, joeyfat, charlottefield, les savy fav, beatles, the who, led zep, nina simone and tori amos are all acts we like. But we're definetly open to new and interesting influences.
We've a deep love for all the above acts and more. We particularly support independent distribution of music and would to put out a single/ep soon of our current work on an independent label. We're deeply orientated around playing live and this we would like to continue.
We are now seeking a new member/members (depends who turns up! :)) to come jam/make music/play live. In terms of a singer we're looking for a bjorkish/pj harvey/cat power kind of figure. We've enjoyed our relationship with our current female singer and would like to continue working in this vein. Also an ability to play an instrument, be it guitar or piano, flute or well whatever would be beneficial.
If anyone has an interest in making unrestricted, tight, challenging, beautiful music which still adheres to the twin totems of melody and endurance at their heart do reply. If your a keyboard player/electronics esk person we'd be interested in talking to you as well.
As for us we're a hard working, nice bunch of folk who are all 21/22 and live in south London. We work and study. We play around new cross and central London.
