synths for sale!

runningforasthma [Edit] [Delete] 4 replies 00:10, 12 December '06

Casio CZ-101 - absolutely legendary and highly sought after synth from the 80's

Redsound Darkstar - true analogue sounding digital synth, massively under-rated in fact. 8 voice polyphonic, 5 part multi-timbral with analogue style knobs

100 quid a piece, can't say fairer

  • Do either of them have MIDI controller capabilities?

I mean, could you hook them up to a module and just use them as controllers? If so, how many octaves do they each boast?

        a cz100 in a skip once!

it was brilliant fun as it was a KEYTAR when you added a guitar strap.

although i'd warn against deciding to use it for any length of time as a midi controller, especially for £100 as the keys were bloody horrible.

as a synth i'd recommend it quite highly, dead easy to get big long faaaart like noises and bleepy ones too, and anything that you can wear like a guitar is COOL in my book.
