Lupe Fiasco "Kick Push".
it's brilliant. the best skating song since OPM's "Heaven Is A Halfpipe" ; )
done and done.
still trying to work out if i love or hate that new Dj shadow track or not, the production is tight as hell but the vocals are bit off.
is teh pants. Which i don't mean as a compliment.
i waaai prefer the new Bomfunk MCs one.
I saw the name of the thread and thought: "Kick Push, obviously.
"Why You Wanna" by T.I. is a current fave, as well, partly for the boldness of nicking both the hook AND the chorus from other songs...
or sexy love?
Single of the year.
Or one of them, anyway.
We'll have none of that nay-saying around here.
is a belting tune.
it's a really awkwardly constructed tune with so many lazy 80s reference points - I think if you're going to reinvent something you have to add to it in some way and not just re-hash it
not sure I'd include it under the banner of hip-hop/r'n'b either
I'm not sure what the Maneater love-in is about. 'Try' and 'Turn Out the Lights' are much better.
SOS by Rhianna,
Christina Aquilera - aint no other man
Haven't heard "Ain't No Other Man" yet - didn't Premier produce that one?
and the christina aguilera tune too!
i like the new Beyonce one though.
Akala - 'Shakespeare'.
ludacris - southern hospitality
Ludacris is the king of chart RnB. That video he did where he had MASSIVE hands is one of the best videos ever. There were some old grannies dancing with him in that video too, for extra bonus points..
makes me feel really angry. Fucking Bustah Rhymes, god I hate that guy. He's just Fatman Scoop with less jowels. Shouting does not equal rapping, and when he's not shouting he's talking in monotone. I dunno what Dre was thinking, recording his 'comeback' album with that idiot...
Touch It, however, is pure class. And the one he does with Raekwon is GENIUS.
there was a review of Busta that said something like "all of the people who say Busta Rhymes is one of their top ten favourite rappers probably have bedtimes."
Is pretty brilliant. Also, it's made me dust off the Hall & Oates version.
I do like that 'Kick Push' tune too. I posted it up on here about a month or so ago but didn't seem to go down too well then either
Justin Timberlake's new song is EURGH
the track on college dropout with ludacris on is immense, in the best possible way
