Those solo albums were ok. Apparently he lost the masters for the third in the back of a cab.
Maybe they'll show up one day.
no, the solo albums were brilliant, and he never recorded a third...sorry. I was a teenage Syd Barrett freak. The guy was awesome
he was a cock!
He made a thread about me !
Sad news anyway.
come on...ban this gimp someone
now he'll never make a come back :(
genuine genuine tragic loss of talent.
RIP and all that.
The Dark Stuff by Nick Kent.
Details were in there, I think. Might be wrong...
i'm very sad. truly. wow.
at the top is wrong.
he was a genius:-(
RIP. A true genius...
to jugband blues and really quite awfully sad. almost at the verge of being on the verge of tears. its so damn good. you never realise how much you love certain people sometimes until they die.
was the same when father ted died.
everyone go listen to jugband blues. now.
I agree with Terra - I know what I'll be listening on the way home.
Shine on you crazy diamond - RIP
There was a huge picture of him projected behind Roger Waters at Roskilde last week and it made me wonder about how he was doing.
and I should really wait until a few days for such comments but though it's a shame I can't see myself feeling wrecked or even that upset about all this.
He only had a brief, flawed moment in the spotlight and was obviously never going to do any music again. To make things worse there are so many amazing artists that just get passed over by the masses that it seems unfair to be all tears and labels of genius in a case like this. Especially as he'll now be crowned the best musician ever by just about every magazine out there.
The biggest shame is that illness and choice of lifestyle didn't let him make full use of his talent. The Madcap Laughs and the early Floyd stuff influenced loads of the acts I care for but I really wish he'd managed to keep at it for longer.
Still sad news though and thoughts go out to his fans and family.
Apparently, he went downhill after staying with some friends who were lacing his drinks with drugs without him knowing, or something
that's what art is all about - however fleeting
One of my actual heroes
