It came out on Monday and i want Pipettes on Top Of The Pops before it's too late.
Wouldn't that be just marvellous?
someone should really review it.
that stands out.
note to self, review records with colourful artwork.
or just review records as well as that of course!
although i know some people go straight to the boards, just trying to cover all bases...
its catchy but i just can't get over the fact that they can't really sing and that the lyrics are rather cringeworthy.
I might be biased here given Gwenno's just shaken my hand upon learning I do the blog I do, which proper people not in top pop bands have never done, but "can't really sing" I'm not having, and surely (and FWIW Pull Shapes isn't really indicative of the album) the lyrical content in a song about dancing isn't really top priority.
about live. but the way the song is recorded just makes them sound unprofessional and a bit amateurish. i guess i just feel a bit let down by the singing when the whole style is meant to be like the supremes etc, who were all fucking amazing vocalists.
maybe its also the fact that they're english and so the incredibly american style and lyrics sound rather odd coming out with their accents.
Rosay's got a cracking voice as well, hasn't she? The change into the middle eight of Judy gets me every time.
I expect this thread will be in the low hundreds by tomorrow evening.
I think a lot of people were put off by that Album Chart Show performance, and I suspect they were none too chuffed with it either as from bits I've seen since they've sounded better and better. They hit pretty much every note tonight, and Rosay didn't even have her traditional mid-song giggling fit.
And good god, Lime Chordial is magnificent. Everyone, http://www.myspace.com/gwenno
that suprised me when I saw them at Rock City was how they sung *everything* absolutely note perfect.
this song. Maybe I should endeavour to do so.
This might be the start of my tweecore phase.
I liked that 'save all your kisses for me' one too.
too. And that Dirty Harry one. Or whatever it is.
*abandon will to live*
so fucking bad
are fucking gash generally. apart from school uniform lolz.
your kisses was also great
Have pre-ordered album, something i never normally do, and am bouncing in anticipation
I've been humming it most of this morning, perhaps cos of this thread...
