does anyone think they're a good idea?
and you've got thirteen tracks, I suppose it's ok.
Or if it's a cover that you don't want to pay copyright on.
Or a backward message. They're always cool.
It's all a bit Robbie Williams. Eh.... so i have been told. Na i know he did a poem about a school teacher on an album as a hidden track. Way to stick it to the man, you c*nt. I can't think of any good ones, actually it's before 9am and i can't think at all. fck
on Ether Song by Turin Brakes was the best thing on the album. That wasn't too hard mind you...
they're good if the track doesn't fit in with the "scheme" of the album but is too good to go unreleased.
but i do find them annoying as to MP3 them it means i have to time it out so I don't end up with loads of silence and wasted space on my walkman..
If your song is good, have it on the album, if it isn't leave it off.
songs don't fit in with the "flow" of an album.
but that doesn't mean the song is bad.
but still on the album with no gaps a la 'Mr E's Beautiful Blues'
on the 2nd Oceansize album there's a whole track BEFORE the first track, and it's like a build up. I haven't heard it but that sounds cool to me.
There's one on Guerilla by SFA.
actually 'up' with 'that'? never understood the reasoning at all.
i like some secret tracks, like on the VoB by biffy clyro, that's nice.
Early versions of Ash's 1977
Outspaced - SFA (again)
Cedars - Clearlake
Think Tank - Blur (it's really odd too)
Radio Soulwax Vol 2 - 2 Many DJs
There's probably loads more I've forgotten.
but I can't seem to find it.
falling asleep to In Utero, and being awoken by the secret track.
for that reason i fucking hate them.
my copy doesn't have it as it's an american one.
rewind from the beginning on on Open Season by BSP's quite nice, but not really great. It's just an instrumental of another song I think.
Good idea though
where after waiting for ages he says "I bet you were waiting for a hidden track here, haha fooled you" or something, or is that the same as the poem?
The Music (oh yeh, remember them?!) had one of those rewinding things at the beginning.
For most annoying surely it's the Stone Roses' second coming one, had about 99 tracks on it, and i think it was track 90 that was the hidden one. I can't remember what it was now, apart from it being pretty pointless.
by Less Than Jake, if you rewind the first track you get a monologue spoken by Howard J Reynolds which is quite amusing.
