for me lady? i have no idea? please help me
Stories From The City, Stories From The Sea.
and apparetnly it won mercury?
I'd go with that
The 4 track demo album is suprisingly good too.
chirpy to be representative, surely? never understood why that album was the one that landed her the critical acclaim/awards etc.
to bring you my love gets my vote. yummy yummy
is the most "listenable" but for me her best is Rid Of Me but really she's not made a single bad record IMO
except 'Is This Desire?', which is a bit of a dud, and Uh Hur Hur is not top quality either (although the live shows that accompanied it were).
Is This Desire! Especially Angelene and My beautiful Leah
Also, get Dancehall, the album with John Parish.
Get dancehall. It's so underrated it's criminal.
Rid of me has some 'post' moments which are probably due to the albini production. Welcome they are.
Her first album sounds horribly dated these days though.
and cos amazon told too. i always do as i'm told
dry is amazing but stories is very good. get em all, i loves her i do.
The thom yorke track off Stories is a corker.
i'd say to bring you my love her her best record
then rid of me and dry
although 'Stories From The City...' is an excellent 2nd choice.
I'd say it's better not to buy 'Rid Of Me' for the PJ Harvey novice, although '50ft Queenie' is the song that made me think, "Crikey!" and start listening to her. But then, it's quite "pop" compared to most of the album.
Lick my legs.
I'm on fire.
did it for me
Stories is well accessable
