Teenage Fanclub - Bandwagonesque
For over a decade I've only ever owned Grand Prix (dont know why!) and now I've started on the Fannies back catalogue.
Quite impressed with Bandwagonesque.
Does it get any better than these 2?

Not really
Songs From Northern Britain is good and the newest one is alright but those are the best two yep.
i like
songs from northern britain best. You should get that.
But I, for some inexplicable reason, dont own a copy of grand prix; even though it's ACE.
i wouldnt
say better, but they're a consistently brilliant band.
try
grand prix
thirteen
songs from northern britain
those 2
are generally considered to be the best albums, although i think Songs For Northern Britain is just as good. The other albums are a bit more hit and miss but every album has an undeniable Fannies classic on it.
awesome album
i got 2 tickets for their rendition of it at the forum on the 24th July... and now i cant go! doh!
want to sell
them?
Howdy! has I Need Direction on it
which is aces. I haven't heard the rest...but as long as it opens with IND I'm sure I will think it's great, just like About You on Grand Prix.
Grand Prix is just...great all the way through though, especially first three tracks. I'm going to go and put it on!
A Catholic Education
is my favourite, then Bandwagonesque. I got a bit bored after that:(
Re: TF Live
Meh. They'll remind you of a cover band.
"Who're the blokes doing Teenage Fanclub songs?"
they used to be fantastic live..
..circa A Catholic Education/Bandwagonesque. Then I saw them a couple of years ago, and I just wanted to cry. For shame.
Bandwagonesque and Grand Prix
...are definitely the best two. But Songs From Northern Britain is well worth your time, and there's enough decent stuff on the other records too. Although they got rather more sedate as time went on, so if the lovelorn stuff isn't so much your thing then stick with what you've got.
Grand Prix though. In my top ten albums of all time, without a doubt.
I like all the happy
singalong anthems that Grand Prix was rammed with.
I will go for Songs From Northern Britain next.
If that has anything of the quality of "Sparkys Dream" then this pig will be rolling in shit.
