...12times and call it their new album!
charmless, dull, repetitive, souless libertines songs.
anyone see them play on later with jools holland?
such a shambolic performance. carl was practical falling asleep, swaying around on stage, slurring his words slack jawed, limp wristed guitar playing.
he was already bored with the song he was playing.
it was just like watching a band with no soul...and no muscles in their limbs.
What about the Babyshambles performance AGES ago. At least DPT played in time and with some swagger. Babyshambles couldn't hardly string together a tune.
DPT's stuff, like Babyshambles' stuff hasn't got any of the charisma and impact the Up The Bracket music had.
Salt and Pepper, guys... salt and pepper...
an impact than dpt. fuck forever smacks you in the face and is really really good. its got a bit of fire and passion. and albion i really like. dpt are way shitter than babyshambles, and i aint no pete fan.
Adored Babyshambles when they weren't a fucking wreck. They used to sound so tight and good, like Maximo Park almost.
Now they're just messy and shite.
Deadwood is a great track.
ages ago, it was exciting. The original Kilamangiro is great.
Since though, has been awful. I can't stand them now (no pun intended)
it may be a sloppy mess but its a sloppy mess with balls and passion. and petes got charisma, carl aint.
some of Babyshambles demos and Killamangiro were exciting and great. The album was fucking awful.
I actually went to a DPT gig with my sister to keep her company and half their songs were Libertines songs. I know they're his songs, but I would of thought they'd be try and break away from the whole Libertines thing, put the past behind him, you know? apparently not. Another reason I don't like them.
Pete and Carl are mere mortal outside the Libertines.
the Libertines weren't all that special. There was just a sense of romance and rock & roll about it at the time. That's what made them good
and the spin off bands were shit
at least Carl's band will turn up for their gigs thus meaning that the misled people don't get disappointed.
Yeah, pigfoot, no doubt. I had to beg off before I could temper the Beatles comparision.
But the Libs were rather great, IMO. They were the Next Big Thing for a half minute (though not on my side of the pond). Like Franz, then the Killers, and now Arctic Monkeys. It remains to be seen who'll last, stand the test of time. Obviously, the Libertines won't be one of them. They'll be lucky to eke out a minor footnote in the annuls of rock 'n roll. Too bad, too...cos as I said, I rather liked them. More substance than the Killers, more charisma than Franz, and more interesting than Alex Turner's band. Oh well.
the libs not only had good songs but were also memorable as a band, they had something about them, pity they didnt just split after up the bracket
