I would go for Bang. or maybe even Tender.
My favourite is This Is A Low.
or To the End.
excellent set opener
i saw them three times on the Think Tank tour. the first and last (Astoria and Brixton) remain some of the best gigs I've ever ever been to.
Coffee And TV, Charmless Man, or There's No Other Way.
Meh, i dunno
Difficult answer. Right now, its:
End of A Century
Me White Noise
or Never Clever
love that one
end of a century
out of time
you're so great*
* Coxon's finest lead-vocal moment. oh yes.
agree almost entirely with guntrip. But can't we have battery in your leg in there somewhere?
good one. consider it added.
Can't not have that, really.
Ah, joyous swoopy perfection...
all those. Plus a few more. Which are too many to mention.
End of a Century
and Trouble in the Message Centre.
Battle makes me feel all mmmmmlovely too, but only when I listen to it on headphones.
to listen to blur for the rest of the working day.
or To The End or even EVEN Essex Dogs
but I'll go for Resigned
I effing LOVE Blur
In terms of genius pop of its time Girls & Boys is unstoppable as a single - contextually, natch.
or maybe You're So Great
or Bad Head
The rest of the album stands up better.
so top 10 in rough order:
2) The Universal
4) End of a Century
6) Yuko and Hiro
7) Chemical World
8) Country Sad Ballad Man
9) Out of Time
10) Trimm Trabb
I kinda like the melancholic ones most.
It was my favourite song for ages and when I saw them do it live it just rocked so unbelieveably much as well. 13 is by far my favourite Blur album even though I half hated it when it first came out even after learning to love the self titled one.
end of a century.
what no-one saying Song 2? :P
where is Emperor's Gate?
Actually I like Intermission A LOT!
Parklife as an album is still excellent - on all their big albums the singles still work really well. Even Song 2 works sort of
my least favourite Blur song - Youre So Great
That song is truly lovely.
is one of my favourites, one of the first proper songs I learnt on guitar too. It hardly counts as a Blur song though as it really belongs on a Coxon solo album.
Coxon's vocals on it are so lovely, he sounds like he was drunk and shaking with fear while he recorded them. which probably isn't far from the truth.
he recorded those vocals hiding under a table!
that makes it so much better.
and I agree, my favourite Blur track evas!!!!!!
and watch Starshaped.
if you've never seen it, i recommend it. one of the best on-the-road documentaries i've seen for glamourising being drunk constantly and touring round muddy, grey european festivals playing with dodgy power metal bands.
plus, it has damon throwing up on his own shoes \m/
or Yuko and Hiro.
In Nottingham at Heineken festival. It was brilliant.
This is a Low
End of a Century
You're So Great
Yuko and Hiro
Out of Time
any of the other wistful tearful ones.
is so great at writing ballads, isn't he?
he's the master. Oh, how did I forget Death of a Party?!
forgot Sweet Song.
or It Could Be You. Which has aged better than you might expect, apart from the middle eight bit.
Out Of Time
