i haven't stopped listening to Alligator in many weeks. why has this album dug into my brain and set up camp?
friends at home in the states rave about these guys and I'm still trying to get it. maybe you can enlighten me?
Sad Songs For Dirty Lovers is much better and it has a better titile.
Alligator is great. See them live too, the songs take on a whole different dimension.
got everything except Sad Songs.
Really getting into s/t and Cherry Tree
backwards at the moment. As you say "About Today" is an amazing song. I heard it for the first time at the Koko gig and it took on a new life there.
I picked up Alligator at Xmas and its hardly been off my stereo since.
but Sad Songs is a proper grower.
90 Mile Water Wall and Available are both equal to anything on Alligator.
I'd forgotten I'd given Snow Patrol 10. In my defence thats from a long time ago and I was trying desperately to like them to impress a girl. I'm going to check my ratings again now incase theres anything else embarrassing on there. I think I may have given the Darkness a very high score as well at some point.
Anyway I don't think Alligator is bad its just that I don't think its as good as Sad SOngs... which is just an incredible record. I like the Cherry Tree mini album as well but also not as much as Sad Songs...
really excited about someone, love them for 3 months and then never listen to them again which is why there were loads of 10s on my ratings page. I've sorted it now so that only those bands I truly couldn't live without (plus my mates bands) have got 10.
that's what I thought. everyone loves alligator, but I found it run of the mill indie with a bit too much melodrama
Good but but but...
