are the best purveyors of British Pop Music in the last 20 years.
i do like them but i wouldn't say they consistently made the best pop music. As pop stars, though, you don't get much better.
was listening to my old albums today - Actually is fantastic. Very is brilliant at times. I must get the new album!
You're right though - great pop stars, especially when Chris Lowe was in Neighbours
"It's a sin" was the first record I ever bought.
"Actually" and "Very" are both great albums, "Left to my own devices" is an amaaaazing single, and I still use "Disco" as driving music (you can hear it over the road noise, which isn't true for guitar music).
I used to play drums along to Actually when I was a kid*

last week - can't remember title.
Pet Shop Boys are absolute KINGS.
WEST END GIRLS - BRILLLLLLLLIANT track.
That Glastonbury set was legendary.
I have realised the very same fact. Behaviour is one of the finest albums ever created by humans, and "Left To My Own Devices", one of the finest singles. The new album's pretty damn good as well.
They are brillinates.
Who is there competition for this title? Seriously.
Duran Duran? <--- the only band that gets anywhere near this crown, possibly?
in terms of international acclaim... and longevity... absolutely.
If it's last 20 years, then I'd be slightly loathe to include the Eurythmics. Most of their good stuff was before then, wasn't it? 1986-2006 that is...
in the world!!!!
...hasn't got at least 3-4 near perfect songs that save it. Thats an achievement over all this time.
Fundamental is pretty ace. Minimal, The Sodom & Gomarrah Show, Integral, Twentieth Century are all tunes! I really liked Nightlife as an album as well, and Bilingual. In fact, as I said, they all have their moment if they aren't all classic albums.
Erasure had a little period of being awesome. Chorus was perfect. If there's two bands that shaped my pre-adolescence musical upbringing its these two, perhaps with The Lightning Seeds thrown in to.
