MARTHA'S ON TONIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
otherwise...meh meh mehs.
aren't as exciting as people make them out to be, judging by this (and recent blanket coverage) im-oh.
Franz Ferdinand were reliably entertaining.
To be fair, that's the worst Gnarls Barkley song on the album.
Did Jools say Wainwright's playing with Snow Patr...Patr...pat...zzzzzzzzzzz.
he's starting one of his "interviews"...
SO, tell me Thommo, do you like, life? I've, got a life, and I love, it. Is your's, as good?
He looks 7.
But the drummer talk was excrutiatiing.
As was..."look! Your new album!"
i think they've seen a copy of it before.
was ace a couple of weeks ago...
SO is that a pear?(pointing to new album)
No it's an avacado...
Pearl Jam everyone!
THere were a few in between bits, but that as basically it.
Glad i missed that.
...dressed like someone out of Harry Potter?
That was THE weirdest duet I've ever seen.
Lightbody looked like a smiling Ian Curtis and Martha looked about 3 feet tall from some camera angles.
being cold. as per the words of the song.
oh dear oh dear.
I want him to cover Bon Jovi's "Shot through the heart"
some cunt from Duran Duran. The one who is less of a cunt than the other one but looks like more of one.
gives the impression of one of those real life giants... only smaller.
Someone from Duran Duran said Jools "got a good sound" from Gnarls Barkley.
My conclusion, I should've gone out tonight...
'Shit On You' by D12...
good point, I'm not sure which would be more amusing.
Where the fuck is this song going?
"You Give Love a Bad Name"...err..*abandon life*
i hope not :(
that's soiled the whole experience for me...
IT just came to me.
That wasn't meant to sound like such a narcissistic comment.
And I thought they did a pretty good version. Even FF were good and I only like Michael. Why is the bloke from the Doors on it? And why is Dr John rubbish now? Gris Gris!
I know that, it's still on the album though.
I never really used to hate Jools. But now I just want to slap him. This Snow Pa-wainwright is shite.
it builds very slightly... was that the climax? wow...
That was awful. All they do is down strum on the guitars to make it sound anthemic. Jesus it's horrible. Gnarls barkley impressed me. Cept the last song was meh.
2 notes in that song...
being more interesting than this.
He's awful. Ima listening to Gris Gris after this finishes to remind me of the greatness. Why is Tom Waits the only guy from the 70's who is still interesting?
but you forgot...uhm...Mark E Smith? Robert Wyatt? Scott Walker? etc. etc.
Mark E Smith. I'm really familiar enough with Walker or Wyatt. Wait, maybe it's a W thing. Erm.
the only people who watch Later are people who watch it in the offchance that it won't be a load of toss.
i was wrong again.
I hate FF's guitar sound.
that was awesome.
that tinny fuzz on the guitars.
I think they're better than most of that crop but...
Lightning Bolt never beem on this programme?
Don't just dismiss the idea. Why? Why have they not fucking been on it? It would be awesome TV. They could set up next to Jools' boogie woogie piano bit.
I should work in TV.
i guess that's why Lightning Bolt have never been on there, his disapproving smirk probably meant anything that is both jazz-orientated and math-rock-like at the same time (i.e. anything a bit challenging) would be forever swept away in favour of some predictable, yawnsome, glass-eyed crooner.
Or amybe they don't want a repeat of the At The Drive-In episode...
*gets Later...Louder DVD out*
on the cardiff lightning bolt gig in this local lads mag that we get free at work (and other fun social areas locally) it was so WEIRD.
on the offchance that it wouldn't be a load of toss. i was wrong.
i have such a problem with Later, because it could be SO GOOD and it's had some classic moments, but Jools Holland himself is such an utter gobshite it pains me to see him on tv.
i'd honestly not be able to talk to him if i met him, he absolutely disgusts me.
Radiohead, The Presidents, Black Keys, East 17, Whitesnake
Now that would be a show
to be sacked. He needed to be sacked about ten years ago. This programme is so, so terrible simply because the BBC seems to think it has exhausted its remit for "alternative" music on TV by just having it there. I'd like to drop a bomb on Jools Holland.
with Zane Lowe and people that was on about once actually made a decent stab of a new live music show, unlike that "album chart show" toshwank.
I don't undertsand the lack of decent music tv. There is a huge market for it, yet all we really have is Later...
but it's all mainly following the Popworld twenty tosh wank something market. I don't think Later's really that bad; they just have to get read of the senile goblin who fronts it.
that made me laugh so hard i had a coughing fit. and now i've broken my lungs.
it'd just flatten him, cartoon style, he'd be even more squashed than he is now, and his chest would stick out even further. or it'd explode him into a million little bits of jools holland, all running around barking "THE ARC-ADE POWAH, EVERYONE!!!!"
what happens when you bomb them?
all waving their gabillions of hooves furiously at people, and playing boogie-woogie on millions of tiny little inch-high pianos.
but NO, you have to make me weep into my lap.
