"got a house in devon drink cider from a lemon lemon lemon"
This song used to and still does remind me that sometimes being mortal has its advantages
Thank you xfm for ruining the WHOLE of 2001
is drunk 'from eleven', surely?
i don't actually know for sure if they're the lyrics... sounds better than 'lemon' though (marginally)
leven too. Much better (!)
like the bread?
...it's a lazy, rubbish bit of songwriting. I'd rather hear the song performed by Twiki out of Buck Rogers. at least then my ears wouldn't be assaulted by Grant Nicholas' gutless whimper.
What the Jeffrey Jesus? I didn't know there WAS such a thing as a DiS 'blog'! Cripes! What have I been missing?
Thankyou, wishpig! I'm ON the mother!
i recall hearing grant talking about it in an interview and mentioning drinking cider with lemon when he was a nipper, or summat...
surely the answer lies with a certain ex-drummer.
really are dull. Never ever matched their debut. Although i do like Lost And Found
i remember reading an interview with Grant Nicholas and he actually wrote Buck Rogers for another pop group, but Feeder's record label people heard it and said Feeder had to release it as it would be successful.
well, they were right, but didn't do Feeder much good in the respect stakes i guess. Apparently Nicholas hates the song, but respects it for propelling them to the mainstream audience.
i thought the last album, Pushing The Senses was a really good album... Bitter Glass is a great song.
i forgot about the song 'pushing the senses' now that WAS a good pop song
Pushing The Senses = Awesome.
Shatter = Awesomne
New Single Whose Name Escapes Me = Awesome.
a tune. Maybe they haven't completely lost it...
Roughly the same place it goes wrong for lots of bands - spend years writing a mini-album's worth of quality songs, get signed, suddenly have to knock out a few more in record time. And they're shite.
then you get to spend years making shite
All went wrong artistically though, didn't it?
Not that they're bothered, I'm sure.
loads of bands only have one album in them ,thats not a disaster unless it is all dragged on with total shite new suff.
there was something that went right to begin with.
decent in a rather teenage siamese dream ripoff way yes.
...but a great singles band.
I bought the new album because of the DVD with all 26 of their videos. And when the ballady stuff is mixed in with the uptempo bits, it's not bad.
I only listened to Pushing The Senses through once, mind.
