all the Radiohead albums apart from The Bends which is brilliant. Nothings doing for me and its winding me up! argh!
about radiohead, i cant get into them really either
i bought all the other albums apart from The Bends (which i already owned) from Amazon MarketPlace thinking they would be wonderful but theyre not doing anything for me.....yet
but i cant really listen to a whole album without getting a bit bored
Ok computer after Paranoid Android.
"The Bends" is the album which bores me the most of theirs.
Also, HOW can you not get into "Kid A"?
sometimes the reason you cant get into something is because you dont get it, sometimes it's because you dont like it, and sometimes it's because it's shit.
I'm not sure how you tell the difference.
But I dont like radiohead. I think that's the appropriate choice here.
"Sometimes the reason you cant get into something is because you dont get it, sometimes it's because you dont like it, and sometimes it's because it's shit."
Best thing I've read all day.
and hail to the heathens.
What am I talking about, am not fussed about the 'head either.
they shamelessly change their style in attemp to be seen as credible and never get criticised for it
even when applied to someone less 'serious' like kaiser chiefs (and their transition from 'parva').
i find it extremely hard to believe that people who love music would do this sort of thing in that calculated and cynical a vein.
the fact that radiohead don't have a label also counts for them in this regard. and if they didn't love music, i doubt they'd still be going.
Between albums. rather obvious example is Kid A and Amnesiac, but if you listen to all of them in chronological order, it's a pretty natural transition...
listen to it in a darkened room. it hits you like a small nuclear bomb.
I think OK Computer is scientifically enhanced so it makes the musical side of your brain feel excited. Simple things from slight chord changes, or the riff in Karma Police just fit so perfectly its surprising.
But I agree with you. I don't feel the need to hear anything else they've done.
something really subtle can just work so well that you can't help but smile or feel sad or whatever. I find this happens most often when i'm listening to Radiohead.
I was obviously referring to the bit before that.
who are you talking about? and why is that relevant?
all the Radiohead albums apart from Kid A which is brilliant.
Is all kinds of brilliant,
As are Radiohead.
If anything, their recent output, including Hail To The Thief, has made The Bends look, not shoddy, but a wee bit unimagnative?
Maybe. Obviously I'm comparing them to themselves, but they are in many ways...incomparable.
as much as i can listen to OK computer.
Do you think listening to Radiohead is a mood thing?
