Gah! Get on with it someone. Honestly. I don't know what you do all day.
come on diver, your reviews are mindbendingly interesting.
to get a review here. its called realpolitik, many a socialist would've approved.
This album isn't much like the one before it.
Because of this, certain critics took it upon themselves to punish its progression. One deemed it worthy of a 1/5 rating in a strangely-still-popular glossy.
However, listen closer and treats abound - truly, this is an album for the headphone-wearing indie boys so often spotted with their noses in graphic novels on the Tube. It's an album rich in textures, in deft wrong turns and rope-a-dope builds and falls. It's an album where a punk band dare to spread their wings 'til the cage that so loosely housed them collapses in a cloud of journalistic-sourced dust.
Take, for example, Pearls On A Plate; here, Pretty Girls have penned a poetic love letter to a future still uncertain, Andrea Zollo sounding simultaneously desperate and absolutely at peace. As fireworks crack about her final whispered words and organs die a slow death, starved of power, the listener is left statuesque. It's a striking moment on an album full of skin-prickles and nerve-tingles.
The more straightforward, upbeat numbers are of the quality expected by now - album number three, lest we forget - but it's when Pretty Girls fill the void left by former guitarist Nathan with everything you DIDN'T expect that Elan Vital truly becomes remarkable.
Buy and invest a little time, please; a fleeting listen will leave the not-bothered audience cold to the touch.
I don't mind waiting 'til you get back from the shops :)
As a fan of Thursday's previous appearances, I have been waiting with baited breath for the latest instalment in the long running series of days. It was with trepidation, then, that I rolled out of bed this morning - could this Thursday live up to previous efforts?
The morning was pleasant enough and I really liked the fact that a full-to-bursting bus was promptly followed by an empty one. This bus boasted a very clear gangway and a much more impressive driver who's driving was a joy to behold. The twists and turns were totally innovative and I was relieved that the day had started off in a manner which befit the best of Thursday's earlier days...
etc etc etc
and a wry LOL thrown in
Have you thought of a job with Playlouder?
