One of the most eagerly awaited remixes for a while; it really is amazing, I wish it was longer by about 4 days.
the guy downstairs in soul jazz was playing an advance of this last week and made me sad by saying it was his personal stash and i couldn't have it.
where'd you get this from?
when does it actually come out again?
the dfa mix is okay, pales in comparison to this though.
i still need to hear the baby ford mix.
as soon as I get home.
Thanks a lot for that mr Panic man.
Carl Craig, I love you.
Krautroit techno is the future.
is a beautiful thing.
and the farty bass hits!
oh, i'm in love.
Better then the original? Yes it is.
the original wasn't trying to be this.
GOOD GOD though.
i actually said "oh..." on 5 occasions the first time i played this.
I was thinking of something to say...
7 mins in and I get a semi...
I did that when the bass kicks in!
It's on soulseek, it'll be on all kinds of blogs in the next week I assume.
Their website says May; it'll be on 2x12" with the original included.
This is the best thing Craig has ever put his name to by MILES. It literally has about 7 or 8 moments for me when my jaw hits the GROUND.
I'd better not be disappointed when I finally get to hear it.
fade away far too soon doesn't it?
Aye, I'm clutching at straws but the tag does say "version 1" so maybe there's a half an hour version somewhere. I doubt it though : (
it's like his Theo Parrish remix to the power of AWESOME.
i think the 12" set has a modified version of the original to go with the DFA mix, which is pretty straightforward, and the Baby Ford one which i've been told is super-minimal.
and this of course.
i've had the synth line of this lodged in my brain since i first heard it on Tim Sweeney's show a couple of months ago, it's so instantly recognisable.
The "Falling Up" remix is pretty amazing too, I'd say it has 5 "oh" moments to "Relevee"'s 8 : D
what is it with Carl Craig and these hypnotic synth lines?
i've spent over two hours listening to 3 songs today. :D :D :D
I just put on "Just Another Day" 12" he did and you're completely right, he is the Prynth of Synth...wait that just makes it sound like I've got a lisp.
was the first thing i both thought of and did, this morning.
it's so dreamy! *swoon*
It was very good but I feel you've hyped it up a bit too much.
I also found another version on hype machine which is about 30 seconds shorter, but it ends a bit more 'properly' on some strings, rather than that crap fadeout bit. weird.
it's basically gained all of the hype through being really good. the DFA have had other remixes played sparingly in the right places but compared to this, no one cares.
so my appreciation of it as a remix is currently not possible. I will be investigating the original asap. As a stand alone track I thought it was great although I was expecting it to go somewhere it didn't. This isn't necessarily a bad thing but on first listen it felt a bit subdued.
it pretty much takes one synth loop, speeds it up, and then takes it dancing. And then to a jazz club. And then makes sweet sweet love to it.
