and other revelations is actually a truly beautiful and touching album. lovely stuff. dreadful cover mind...
I like it a fair bit, but it isn't a patch on the first four albums. They are the best of the best. Shootenanny onwards it just seemed like he wasn't keeping it real anymore and it stopped being touching for me :(
it's my favourite Eels album, and one of my favourite albums of recent years. It's a triumph. Beautfiul, heartwrenching and it makes me cry. If You See Natalie is so sad and so uplifting at the same time. Oh, and Whatever Happened To Soy Bomb! And Railroad Man! And Hey Man - the most emo danceable pop song ever!
The purple and orange is horrible though.
Is teh ace.
I don't like the production. This twinned with the length of the thing has meant I've hardly listened to it, and when I have it hasn't been all the way through, or my attention has been diverted.
I'm going to the Astoria show in June - first time I've seen them outside an all-seater theatre - so I'll give it a listen.
but just now it was lovely.
but sometimes I'm just not in the mood for the length of a double album. Some absolutely corking tracks though.
It has it's fair share of flaws and I shouldn't really like it as much as I do, but it's charm really pulls me in.
