mine = jonathan david.
because that's my name.
and expectations, cos that's just awesome.
"if you're feeling sinister
go off to see a minister
he'll try in vain to heal the pain
of being a hopeless unbeliever"
is FAN-MONKEY-MARVELLOUS as lyrics go.
get me away im dying tops it thoe
or Dress Up In You
or The State I Am In
lazy line painter jane or johnathan david.
or the stars of track and field.
belle and sebastian are my 9th favourite band.
A Space Boy Dream A LOT
i can only narrow it down to four:
sleep the clock around
modern rock song
get me away from here i'm dying
and so I gave myself to God,
there was a pregnant pause before he said ok...Genius!!
First of their songs I ever heard, and was hooked immediately. Otherwise, The Stars Of Track And Field.
Electronic Renaissance is pretty good too
Another Sunny Day
I Fought In A War
Le Pastie De La Bourgoeisie
the first two albums contain approximately one third of my top 50 songs in the world* this is like asking me to pick a favourite friend.
But if I must answer then... oh fuck I don't know... Le Pastie De La Bourgeoisie.
*randomly generated meaningless statistic
its the state that I am in...
yeah either Judy and the Dream Of Horses, The Model or Boy With The Arab Strap.
i really like the short story in the sleevenotes to 3..6..9 Seconds of Light too..
The Boy With The Arab Strap and If You're Feeling Sinister, but currently I would agree with Monpot that Sleep The Clock Around is the best track. Soemthing would have to be pretty damn special to beat that...
It would be between:
A Century of Fakers (1st song I heard)
Get Me Away From Here, I'm Dying (Arguably Best song)
Your Cover's Blown and Sleep The Clock Around (Sound fantastic live)
I'm Waking Up To Us (best production - plus I think the anger suits Stuart)
and pretty much all the others!
it's a tie between Jonathan David and Get Me Away From Here I'm Dying. AMAZING.
funny little frog
boy with the arab strap.
Like Dylan in the movies/
But I like Books and Your Cover's Blown a lot, and Losing It, and Electric Renaissance, and We Rule The School, and Belle & Sebestian.
"You're Just A Baby"
Her voice at the end is so amazing
"And he was not to be daunted by the most gigantic word in the dictionary!"
Not sure why.
And all the B&S girls have very plain voices.
is my favourite, I love it. The whole 3..6...9 EP is great though.
I suppose second place would go to Dirty Dream No.2 and third place to Me And The Major.
= Felt though
and without Lawrence's occasionally irritating vocal style.
Slow Graffiti is the one that floats my boat. Though Fox In The Snow comes a close second, if only for the way it's used in A Room For Romeo Brass.
Dress Up In You
Sleep The Clock Around are all very nice.
But it's got to be If You're Feeling Sinister, innit.
Sleep The Clock Around
The Stars Of Track And Field
Sleep The Clock Around
There's Too Much Loads
Dirty Dream #2
