..., the sporto's, dweebies, they all think he's a rightious duude!
cut and paste!
does no-one here listen to anything that isn't completly indie?
No-one feeling the hip hop?
it's all the better for hearing it at 1.30 in the morning ;)
prefuse73... buck 65. but not much though. i have heard some dj yoda, and it was good, but not enough to form too much of an opinion.
i have heard of Buck 65 but have not 'heard' any, is it similar to yoda?
big up your bad self!
everybody on here would be into a bit of hiphop, especially the white-friendly anticon stuff. check out dr octagon for more cut and paste madness
He's alright, not hip hop in the conventional sense though; he's more of a turntablist and mash-up DJ.
"How to Cut...the 80s" gets on my tits after about 5 minutes as well.
I like him, mix up at phat jam's good, definitely good incidental playstation/essay procrastination music, would prob be quality live I suspect
I do listen to other stuff apart form Indie, mouldycherryx... believe you me!
soz (had wine at lunch - overzealous)
not cut and paste but i just got back from the shop with it had to tell someone, its the best new album i've heard this year.
have you heard any of this: http://www.aircockthrust.com/
i need to practise.
album is very good indeed. i don't know anything more... what solidsteel shows?
Hexstatic at the Big Chill last year rocked the most.. amazing.. Feted by many a VJ and appreciators of sound and vibe globally.. sigh.............
already. How come i didn't know...? Thanks for the tip.
HAIL them.. They are the most clever dudes around.
dvd and have been to nights, nut never looked at the websites. Ace! for want of a better superlative.
it's hard to find people on DiS who are into this sort of thing so I embrace anyone here who is...
what nights do you go to? and where?
in Brighton, various nights, but mainly when i was younger!
of his comedy hiphop really quickly. C+P2 is a mediocre hiphop mixtape with some pretty bad sub-Cassetteboy 'funny' bits in between.
DJ Format, on the other hand, now THAT'S good UK hiphop
is beyond awful.
My recipe for a DJ Yoda album -
Old TV theme tunes
Generic "hip-hop" beat
Synthesised scratch noise
1. Mix ingredients.
2. Repeat ad nauseam with different TV theme tunes.
Serve to legions of gullible indie kids. Enjoy profit.
Smileadelic has hit the naileth upon thee head.
The early Yoda cassette mix tapes are tre-fucking-mendous and anyone who says otherwise is a humourless cunt.
but then someone nicked all his old records.
he lost fucking loads, and was never the same since.
my dad used to deliver records to him back in tha dayz.
he's fun now if he's doing an A/V set.
