I really, really like The Darkness' second album.
only time will tell...
ANY of there albums
The Darkness are quite good, I think the hatred towards them is unfair. And most of it centres around Hawkins being ugly so it's also ridiculous.
I can't say I've heard much of it, apart from the single which rails against cocaine use by famous sorts.
The Darkness are a one trick pony though aren't they?
I liked the first album, it was FUN POP ROCK.
Then the Reading headlining debacle kind of clouded it.
Then the second album got slammed, so I've not given it a chance until now. But I really like it.
...every time I read about their Reading show, people are slating it.
My memory of it is very different. Field was full, crowd went mad, show was good. Me confused.
was awful. Really, really bad. I can't put a finger on it, but it just didn't work for me. I've not actually seen any other reviews of it to be honest, but I'm glad people agree with me!
I know people in both camps over that performance though. I'm just firmly in the 'Should have been a hell of a lot better' camp. Maybe I got spoiled by the Brixton gig the Christmas before, which was SUPERB.
It was fun. Fireworks! Riffing! ace.
the Darkness are ok, i slightly preferred their first album to the 2nd though, the 2nd doesnt seem as catchy to me from what ive heard...
...it's funny how people lambast The Darkness for excess when the album is just ten three-minute pop songs!
I can never forgive you for this.
I'm just one of those stereotype people who hates the Darkness.
I love "I Believe In a Thing Called Love", I bought the album. But I hated the album. Then I listened to the second album on their myspace site and hated it even more than the first one.
Talented blokes but complete wankers.
Go to your room Bamos, if that is your real name.
its ok, it is an ok album, but i wldnt go as far as saying i really like it
I can't contemplate liking them, I think they were the worst band I ever saw, they didn't have enough material to play for the allocated time, the jokes were so bad and the new material they played was shit. I think they were getting the crowd to swear then laughing?
after liking the first then going off it. I am a fickle and untrustworthy music fan.
and I thought they were shit when I first saw them.
I am guessing I'll think this album is shit too.
Our friendship is...probably not at an end, really. :-D
we all have our secret shames !
i like embrace, coldplay and king adora...
king adora, maybe, but EMBRACE!?! they must be the worst band ever
Huge hype, followed by a more of the same album, followed by a backlash. They were ok at what they do had a few good pop songs, imho but they were never deserving of the brit winning adoration they received.
That I like Coldplay. I saw them live and paid £35 quid and loved it. So there.
I also like Kasabian. Despite the fact that they're wankers, they make some great music in my opinion.
a good job raising you, Bamos!! Seemingly NOT!! dear dear dear oh dearie me
Name Register gag.
I despise the Darkness. They're the least funny joke in the world. Turn it off and listen to my mix CD instead Bamos :D
