skits on hip-hop albums
are, as a general rule, terrible. Rampant mysoginy and cringeworthy songs about sex aside, they're the worst thing about hip-hop. I'm using WuTang albums as my main evidence here, the rambling bollocks they spout in between songs really annoys me, to the extent I edit them out on my MP3 player. Raekwon's skits tend to be him and maybe Ghostface mumbling some pointless rubbish where they're pretending to be mafiosi in a restaurant or something. Why? Do they think this is entertaining?
Or am I wrong about this? Are they really secretly entertaining, and add to the enjotment of these albums? I kinda like the film quotes they use, like at the start of Ghostface's Ironman, but the amateur dramatic society crap is just awful.
Thoughts?
