Ok, there's a new campaign in town.
It's called 'Ticket Justice'
Everyone on here has at some point been trying to get tickets to see their favourite band, only to watch them disappear in minutes. Within an instant, reams of tickets appear on ebay for sale prices of double, maybe triple the face value price.
This, under current laws, is not illegal. But things are getting out of control and pretty soon the only ticket supplier will be ebay, and the only people who can go to gigs will be those with a fat bank balance.
THIS WILL RUIN LIVE MUSIC UNLESS SOMETHING IS DONE ABOUT IT SOON.
Some people argue that ticket touting is a good thing because "It gives those fans that didn't get tickets another chance". What they fail to see though is that the very reason that popular concerts sell out so fast IS BECAUSE TOUTS BUY ALL THE TICKETS!
Another reason people say that touting is a good thing is because sometimes you do genuinely become stuck with a spare ticket for a gig. However, there are plenty of ways to sell on your ticket for face value without making a 300% mark up profit on ebay. WWW.SCARLETMIST.COM is a website where buyers and sellers are put in contact with each other to exchange the tickets for their FACE VALUE PRICE. Similarly, a bands message board is an ideal place to meet people who have spare tickets, or are looking to sell unwanted ones.
If you've ever been screwed over by ebay touts, or ever said that something has to be done, now is your chance to prove it.
Adding Ticket justice as your myspace friend will take you no time at all, signing the petition will take even less time (30 second max).
There is no reason or excuse why you shouldn't sign your name. Anyone that has time to post on message boards has time to contribute a small bit of activism to a worthy cause.
If you can't bring yourself to sign a petition then as far as we're concerned you are actively promoting touting as a good thing.
We are not asking for much. Just your name.
This is your chance to make a difference.
This is where you can do it - www.myspace.com/ticketjustice
Thanks in advance,
