Album you're gonna buy next time you have money

restlessboy [Edit] [Delete] 62 replies 21:21, 28 March '06

and are really excited about.

for me - something by mclusky. possibly 'do dallas' or whichever one has 'to hell with good intentions on it' if it isn't that one.

(all thanks to senor le deputy's friendly 'loan' of some mp3s)

  • You won't regret Mclusky do Dallas

i-deserve mentions Ricardo Villalobos everytime as the best thing ever so I shall invest in some of his work when I have money.

    tom_from_sparks | 28 Mar '06, 21:24 | X
  • it is 'do dallas'

but you should buy 'the difference between me and you is that i'm not on fire' too, cos it's ace.

    my albums to buy:

bss - forgot it in people (£6 in virgin!)
    mystery jets - making dens
yeah yeah yeahs - new one
tom vek - we have sound
    fugazi - end hits
    the evens - album
    bluetip's last album
fiery furnaces - rehearsing my choir
    mclusky - mcluskyism

    and more besides....

    keveddy | 28 Mar '06, 21:26 | X
    • i did do you

an *ahem* 'preview' copy of 'rehearsing my choir' but i a) didn't see you and b) forgot to bring it.

I was listening to it again today. it's fuckin' ace but it exists in a strange little sub genre of it's own.

I think I might do a 'user review' of it. which will be my first proper one.

      restlessboy @keveddy | 28 Mar '06, 21:34 | X
      • ah well...

perhaps one day soon we shall cross paths again, and the *ahem* preview copy may change hands... in return you shall receive a kevmix.

  • I've got a list as

long as my arm. And I have notoriously lengthy limbs.

    Drum's Not Dead by Liars
Alan Braxe & Fred Falke's best of
    Akron/Family
    Common
Saint Etienne's Tales From Turnpike House...

amongst about 300 things to get. I have so many gaps in my collection it's starting to annoy me. Gaps suck.

    bamos | 28 Mar '06, 21:29 | X
  • um

    Semifinalists - S/T

in fact I haven't heard any Grandaddy albums and the only Pavement album I've got so far is Crooked Rain. I heard Terror Twilight was a good one to go with next but I'd be happy with any since Crooked Rain is one of my favourite albums ever.

i've had in about six weeks is Bucko by Fickle Public. this makes me sad, but I'm not letting myself buy CDs these days.

As a consequence, there are about a million things I want. If I was letting myself, I'd would definitely have bought the new Liars & Jeniferever albums, as well as probably the volcano! one, some sufjan stevens, the bright eyes albums i'm missing and about a million more from FOPP's £5 section.

                  One day..
