what about you Therapyrock?
But I really need to see more...
But it has to be The NME tour last year at the UEA. Bloc party were fantastic, they were only up and coming at the time.
Best gig was PWL
rage against the machine
I've seen SFA tons of times and they've never really had it going on live.
music kicks arse. Things I remember being really really good
Mclusky many times
Rahzel and Patton
Melvins playing live film soundtrack
etc etc etc
McLusky, The Futureheads or Soulwax
its too tough to call
At The Drive-In
British Sea Power
Trail Of Dead
these are (or were) bands i'd make special effort to get tickets for, worth every penny
I wish I'd seen BSP when I had the chance!
are good live.i really enjoyed interpol when i saw them and also the strokes. but they are my fave bands so im probably biased as to whether they're actually any good live.
.Les Savy Fav
.British Sea Power
My Bloody Valentine and Slayer - both awesome, in different ways...
Also The Mars Volta - unreliable proposition, but on the right night, they're great. Oh, and Interpol.
And Broken Social Scene.
and The Arcade Fire too
ryan adams and trail of dead.
But Arcade Fire are ludicrously good live.
sure that Jetplane Landing put on the best live show I've seen.
Ryan Adams and Sigur Ros.
i'll say broken social scene...
On this tour. Seriously. I was surprised too.
was awesome, the sound quality was perfect and he was great performer.
The Pietasters were great when I saw them supporting Less Than Jake 3 years ago.
all close contenders, but my favourite live set has to be Saul Williams at ATP
had the energy of....I don't know what, and were very impressive, but Bloc Party and Futureheads are up there aswell.
Sigur Ros were in a totally different league to anything else I've ever seen.
Also, Oceansize (in a tiny club in Preston), Biffy Clyro (everywhere.... except maybe one night at Liverpool Barfly, but i blame the wanky crowd for that one) and Maximo Park impressed the hell out of me last week at the NME thingy
It's magic !
They left me gobsmacked, both times.
Reading, when did everybody catch the Arcade Fire?
They have been on a tour or two as well.
for me too. But they were so good I almost felt embarrassed to watch all the bands after them.
Saw them at London's ULU and Bristol's Academy.
broken social scene
is the man-FACT.
Even played a wildhearts cover....
they're a really good live band.
and has a live album out tomorrow
which comes with a dvd that features two complete live shows and videos the whole of the volunteers
les savy fav
(were great, maybe)

Trail of Dead at ULU
Kid 606 at the ICA
Kristen Hersh at the Underworld
Mogwai at Reading 00
Smashing Pumpkins at Brixton Academy 96
Nirvana at Reading 92 (it was a good gig! really!)
Bearsuit at bush hall 2003

The Pixies (in the 80's)
Catatonia ( yes )
Les Savy Fav
Yeah Marco - I think Arcade Fire was the single best gig I've seen in my life. And I forgot it on the list. Nice one @ me.
the ARCADE FIRE?
Shame on you.
The usual suspects such as R.E.M., Radiohead, Mogwai, Sigur Ros.
But I also love it when you see a band totally unexpectedly who just blow you away.
Last year's top treats included Low, Richard Hawley and Explosions In The Sky.
I also saw Zen Guerrilla a few years back, having no idea who they were when I walked into Rock City. IMy ears felt it by the time I left though! Holy crap, they were a loud and crazy band.
and just went because i was bored and a bit drunk, Circulus were brilliant, I was told they were fun but fun didnt even begin to describe it :D
every time they rock
