how the hell are you supposed to dispose of it? too liquid for the bin, too solid for the sink...
i mean cooking oil the band:
i mean categorise
and by the whole solid/liquid thing was a metaphor for the imbalance between hiphop and "idm"
back in the day. It were the Rat and Parrot in Dalston. They were supporting Innocent Smoothies.
strictly keeping up our metaphorical discussion of genre, what do you "do" when youve "finished" "cooking" with "oil"?
and hot water so it melts. Then you can dispose of it down the drain.
And pour boiling water down after it.
I will from now on though.
Obvious you lot live in other people's houses... don't pour it down the sink. It'll block the drains and also pollute the water.
Pour it into a plastic bottle and put it in the bin or see if council will take it somewhere other than a landfill.
Terrible. But glad this board is becoming nice and middle aged. So can we discuss recipes next?
wait until it solidifies
chuck a big solid lump into the bin
the enzymes will break down with the addition of that and hot water
in an empty tin or bottle or somthing, then stick it in the bin. I sometimes put small amounts down the drain tho... My old housemate decided it would be a good idea to pour hot oil straignt into the bin. melted all the bin bag - very messy. silly men.
but if it's a really awesome oil that i've kinda modified myself [with herbs/pepper/different oils etc] then if it's still basically clean i save it and use it again next time i cook the same thing.
this may or may not be gross. i'm not sure. i don't care really.
If your gonna go to the effort of making oil all nice, you may aswell reuse it!
Put it in a coffee can. Same with bacon grease and all that. It gets all milky hardened and then you throw it away as usual when full. Or you can mail it to someone you don't like.
Kids today! Jesus. Just lost without momma. *tsk, tsk*
did I just read all of that??
