dear lord. what a show.
alright then, own up - who got hugged? consider me jealous.
although am I the only one who feels as though the marathon two-and-a-half hour set was about 30 mins too long? they could have cut 2/3 songs and left me wanting more: as it was i really wanted them to 'skip to the end' at the 2 hour mark...
I really enjoyed but it was a little long - as Kev said if they had lost a few songs I would have been begging for more as it was when they finished I was happy to go home and was thanking the lord there was no encore!!
they played for 2 hours 10 minutes and that felt like just a little too long. They were ace then though. I hope last night was as good.
I was underwhelmed, 'anthems...' was great though.
I also thought it should have been cut by half an hour hence me leaving half an hour early.
long - I ended up propping up te bar for 30 mins!
i thought i spotted that guy from HofS... however, i thought it was moonface from keane. i stand corrected.
anyway, brilliant brilliant gig. i didn't notice the length of it at all - mars volta did the same thing and i was bored out of my head. this kept me entertained.
i am now also in love with the lead singer.
*clicks fingers* got it.
is she the pretty girl with the really cool mushroom hair or the violinist?
neither of them were there.
Emily is on tour in America with metric at the minute with Islands (ex-Unicorns) in support.
News of Metric UK tour in May coming real soon. Watch DiS space...
I only knew one song in the whole set, but I loved every minute of the gig (although I didn't arrive til 8.45, so I didn't quite get the full thing!)There was a really celebratory atmosphere, and their performance was amazing. They looked like they were enjoying themselves so thoroughly that it was a joy to watch. I am now going to buy everything they've ever released, and stalk them to every gig. One of the best things I've ever been to.
My favourite song (which has been in my head since the gig) is one that the lady with the beautiful hair sang, with the lyric "you used to be one of the rotten ones and I liked you for that" over and over again. What's that one called/on?
anthems for something-or-other? i dunno. i don't really remember the song titles.
It was amazing last night though, 'KC Accidental' was immense as per usual.
I hugged Kevin AND Brendan at the Barfly in November, so NERRRRRR :P
the song is on 'You Forgot It In People', it's EVEN BETTER on record.
now that you mentioned I have had to put it on
opened the 'second half' with????
i recognised it but couldn't place it, and i don't think i have it on an album...
am an eejit.
turn to a big pile of mush.
Or something. I was somewhat overwhelmed. And my feet hurt.
It was a bit good.
thought it was amazing, they even played stuff like Shampoo Suicide which I never thought I'd hear live! 3rd time in the space of just over 2 months and I'm wishing it was May already so I can see them again.
arse is perfect.
anyone could have been bored at that gig is beyond me. lightweights.
I didn't go because I'd already seen them in November and I know I'll see them at ATP so I thought I'd save some money and miss this one. I really regret it now. 2 and a half hours??! Shiiit.
