Did anyone go last night at the spitz? was it good? I only got the album yesterday, after it came highly recommended.
I have a particular fondness for homesick_alien's "Who the cunting hell are KUBB?" thread. Possibly title of the year right there!
saw selfish cunt once at the vibe bar. the drumer told me his nickname was bambi and then proceeded to play an astoundingly good set.
have you heard of Carina Round? they were supporting, i've know idea what they're like.
carina round are really good. i'm sure i'd sent you some stuff before
but my old harddrive's back in the old country atm. my laptop has run out of space twice already. maybe you could return to favour by making me a mp3 cd? :) go on!
your "Kingsmill: Cunts?" was especially good too.
I'd totally forgotten that thread! :-D
Its a shame i've missed all these.
it was supposedly a very weak night by their standards. they dont sound much like the album anymore.
was a couple of days ago.
memories, i remember arguing with brainlove on this board about whether the line "bang bang another nigger dead" was racist or not.
But lets not re-open that can of debate.
i thought that i thought it wasn't racist.
That even saying stuff like that makes you a racist. That would be like saying when Andy Kaufman did his woman-wrestling act to get the crowd going that he was really a misogynist. It's part of a certain kind of provocation to cross those kind of lines. And when you look at the sentiments in SC's stuff, it seems pretty obvious that they are fucking furious with the way things are in the world and not at all likely to be advocating bigotry.
a VERY weak night.... but not their best. their gig a week ago was better. still fairly enjoyable though. carina round was great.
were you not near the front where the 'fighting' was?
a bit tamer than i wanted, but the band is actually really good now they're a four-piece and not just a guitar and a drum machine.
plus the fact he completely laid out this drunk wanker when he jumped into his face at one point leading the bouncers to eject the guy was rather satisfying.
I went to see them at 100 club last year, and didnt see what all the fuss was about. Probably better on record than live though.
although with the full band set up i imagine it will be different.
live, he's the best frontman since Johnny Rotten i feel. was he not fighting audience members and writhing around on the floor and whatnot?
i guess you have to be right at the front to get the best of it.
know you were there! i was somewhere near the front, on t'left.
the dragging-crowd-members-round-the-floor bit was awesome. as was the point where he interrogated someone at the back as to "what it's about". "C'MON! YOU AIN'T SHY! TELL ME WHAT IT'S ABOUT!"
haha. they're tremendous.
them at the cockpit in leeds in 04 (i think) he fled the stage after being yelled at to "play something we know, and fast!"
Best time I saw them was
i think we may both be blind.
the people he was dragging round the floor were clearly very very drunk and were utter, utter, cunts - i was standing next to them and i think the guy who got completely monged by martin was trying to start a fight with me at some point. and then again outside as he was waiting for his girlfriend who didn't bother leaving when the staff threw him out. :D
shame he only started pushing people over after about 5 songs really - he started too slowly.
