Never really appreciated how good Thunder, Lightning, Strike is.
Must be great live.
I think they're ace.
but they seem like theyd be a party and a half
in Southampton. But it sold out. FUCKING BOLLOCKS!!!!!
Quite original, but I think it could have benefited by being recorded in a real studio. Wasn't it recorded in a house or something?
Huddle Formation is my personal faviroute!
The record was featured in Sound on Sound magazine in nov '05. It was indeed partly home-made, but mixed in a proper studio and made over and over again. I guess the sound is more down to a deliberate choice.
In general you should never believe people who say they've made a record in their bedroom. OTH, some people have very special bedrooms.
their singles are great, but the album is very samey throughout.
and the live clips i've seen of them are utterly shit. "Ninja" seems to think shes in a credible RnB act, and does not seem down with the party sunshine at all.
it seemed a tad self indulgent and suggests another reissue of the album avec dvd is imminent
when I last saw them, Ninja really overdid the "Get your hands in the air", "Let's see you dancin'", "Make some noise!" stuff. It was like a cross between a fitness video and an army drill sergeant.
evangelical gathering with patrick swayzeeeeeeeee
They were a bit patchy the first time I saw them, but were massively better the last time. I'm seeing them in March supported by Smoosh, so that should be good
Also, if Ian had accepted all the offers he's received from companies wanting to use his music, he would be a very, very rich man and you would not be able to switch on the tele without having them shoved down your throat. Apparently the record label are getting fucked off with him turning everything down
But he turned down Top Of The Pops, and although it's shit, I don't really understand why he did. I don't see TOTP as selling out, no more so than Jools Holland (which they did last year)
last Sunday. Terrible, terrible performance however.
But the album is very good indeed.
I got told they had turned it down. I'm glad they did, even if it was shite
remind me of hyperactive kids TV presenters. with added ADHD. it's fun, but a bit OTT after about 20 minutes.
Never really appreciated...until now.
Is what I meant.
