that it's a new direction, more disco than blues-y. roll on monday when i can finally find out fo' real.
Uhm, yeah. What do they sound like? Never hearda-dem.
Almost a modern take on southern blues but with a filthy scuzzy edge and a dyke as a lead singer who's not afraid to confront anything in her lyrices. Dirty guitar, pounding drums and no bass... although apparently they have a new drummer and a bassist on the new record... hmmmm.
the guitarist just plays bass on a couple of tracks. its a nice direction, and results in 1 of the highlights of the album "listen up". gossip are sooooo much better live than on record thoe.
I loved 'em when I saw 'em at the Metro last time they were in london, but my good friend thought they were awful.
Yet, why does Nathan bother playing bass, he plays his guitar with a deep enough and scratchy enough sound anyway? Ach well, tis beyond me!
I have the 'Movement' album which has some good moments but on the whole is pretty average. What i've heard of the lastest hasn't impressed me much either. I do, however, have a few mp3s of the earlier material which is uniformly great. A band already past it's peak it seems.
