plus I bet he thinks Cat Power is her real name, the fucktard.
Hee hee, I love hating people.
they're not marketed as the bastion of "real music", are they?
You position yourself more clearly in favour of something else.
It isn't wasted energy.
It is not about being pigeon holed. That's something completely different. Were the allies pigeon holing themselves by being anti-Nazi? Your logic makes no sense. I was making a point about criticism bhaving positive outcomes that people ignore all the time because apparently being constantly positive and ignoring things you don't like is a preferred mode of operation. When I see it as a bit... basic.
Anyway, people on DiS generally expend quite a lot of energy on finding new music. This point is silly as well. I do not GET YOU.
Don't Read The Threads. No One Is Making You.
Personally, I read everything on DiS RE Sir Blunt of Cunt. There is some pure comedy gold to be found in them hills.
Pfffft. What are you, the Daily Mail? Stop being such a prissy knobend.
If you think moaning about James Blunt is pointless then your moaning about people who are moaning about James Blunt is even more pointless.
but there is a difference - hes posting condemning something we like\ whereas blunt posts condemn something that we dont like.
I'd rather he publicised people that need publicity. When I write, I'm influenced by Bright Eyes. If I recorded I'd be influenced by Bearsuit. And if my obvious lack of talent miraculously spawned for itself a pop career, I would use any fame I had to publicise these far far superior bands.
i think theres a lot of people who make shit music but have good taste in music
somebody better instead.
Jim Carrey is a huge Cannibal Corpse fan for example. Is true.
solely a website for and about good music as SFS states.
Actually there are threads on here all the time about Babyshambles, Doherty or some other hapless tools that people will then criticise. On a messageboard you will find figures from all ends of pop culture are up for discussion. It certainly not a site full of hipsters and nerds who only want to discuss how brilliant Broken Social Scene's new album is or why X is the best band in the world. You get positive and negative, soft and hard targets and if you're on here long enough you get used to it.
It's admirable of you to disagree with the relentless slagging of DiS' favourite smacked pony but it won't stop another thread popping up the next time he releases a single/album/breathes
I find his music offensive but I don't care if he likes Cat Power or Cat Stevens to be honest.
