I confess, I did this toady.
I feel so dirty.
No need to beat your self up over it mate.
I don't really care, but then when I see indie stores (the one in canterbury springs to mind) closing down, I start beating myself up. I've already given myself two black eyes today, and that's before I've even listened to the Strokes record.
it's even worse that you bought the strokes record. think of all the tom waits, shellac, kate bush, pat wolf, bjork, neil young, fall albums sitting on the shelf, and you went and picked up the strokes. albums do have souls you know, and every time you buy a merely average album an angel is sodomised.
but I like 4 of those bands you have mentioned. and have a lot of their music, please, does this make me a good person, please.
even if i did buy the strokes album.
are treading a fine line sunny jim. watch it.
*gives disapproving look*
thats already charted!
what bout the bands that have only just started?
2 record shops in the little town near to where I used to live. Now , there are none. Only in Tescos can you buy records (sic)
art brut lyric, christopher?
I bought Antony and the johnsons there!
bought CDs as presents for family members from supermarkets. I justified it because I knew that they would only buy the same CD from the same supermarket at a later date. I keep telling mysepf that
get a tiny marketshare of albums, and if you bought it for 9.97 they loose money on it.. if that makes you feel any better. it does feel kind of wrong though.
in chepstow i have tesco, woolworths and wh smiths as the only music retailers available within a 15 mile radius.
i can't even begin to think about sticking it to the man or any of that 'independent record shops! yeah!' stuff, so my conscience is CLEAN.
but then, although i would like to, there are no independents in my town, so hey
Sainsburys now stocks The Arcade Fire. If this means that Supermarket Mum can now pick up some over-emotional Canadians with the weekly shop, I'm all for it.
chepstow tesco has had that album for months and months. which is great!
also, apparently the new sigur ros album was there the other week.
the best of ska from Asdas, which was only £1.99. It was far too tempting not to buy it.
All of my Meat Loaf cassettes from Asdas. Appart from one, which I got in a garriage.
I prefer meatloaf made from Meat in Asda. Never bought a seedee from a hypermarket though.
It's not mui folt is it :(
