you should let beautiful 90s pop into your heart.
but yeh, if anything they were over-rated
I know a lot of people like them, but I still feel they never quite got the credit they deserved from the public at large. The same goes for Suede, really...
surely they had pretty massive chart success for an indie band?
But I always kind of felt they got trampled on by Oasis and Blur, in spite of being better (Pulp, that is). I suppose, on reflection, underrated might be an exaggeration, but if the public had sense they'd have sold more records than Oasis...
This is Where I Stand is a damn-near flawless indie pop record. And Kill the Last Romantic, patchy as it may be, is still really good.
are easyworld suddenly really popular?
is a near perfect EP of indiePOWERpop
and, also underrated:
My Chemical Romance
I have plently more where that came from :p
Miss black america
Days of worth 'were' criminally underated
kids near water
you fucking pretentious twat henry.
just enjoy yourself for a fucking change.
i hope when you're near suicidal you are completely unable to find something to take you from death's door and allow you to wallow in pure and wondeful joy.
all of the bands on here were nicely rated by loads of people!
most of them.
see my thread about belgian bands for intrnationaly underrated Belgian bands...
i can make a mess like anybodys business
Lightning Seeds? Jesus Christ, they're worse than the Beautiful fucking South.
A truly underrated band:
I haven't heard Ghenzo.
Akron / Family. On closer inspection only 17 people on here seem to rate them , I figured more people liked them. I, for one, really really love that album.
That band is a universe all of it's own.
lightning seeds = god awful
here's one though: wheat
now there's a CRIMINALLY underrated band.
without a doubt.
Or the Catchers !
Ben Christophers. First three albums are absolutely brilliant (particularly The Spaces in Between). I've yet to get into the new album, but he's an immensely talented fella.
Someone stick up for the Lightning Seeds. Please!!!!?!
Someoen who knows Guv'ner !
Agreed on Whipping boy and Hefner !
elliott smith- sud have beatles status
refused- only emo kids seem 2 reckonise the importance of them.
mclusky- what with the revival of the pixies, you wud have thought they wud have coasted along the mainstream highway. but now their dead.

were better and rightly more successful than the drivel you have rated.
They werent more successful than:
the stone roses
or the libertines
*bites tongue about wishpig + other forumite in shared music taste shock*
I agree Kula Shaker are awful
...he was conscious at that point :p
The lightning seeds were baaaaaad, next thing someone will be saying TEXAS are underrated or something.
I think bands like silver apples, the only ones, the gun club, only really have an pretty underground following but all could have easily been mainstream bands. So they're definitely underrated.
I was going to say The Silver Apples. But I thought I'd continue racking up the uncool points, as I was diong quite well thus far...
were ace. Underrated/underappreciated bands also include:
Dexys Midnight Runners
Yo La Tengo
Future Kings Of Spain
bring myself to post on this thread cos of the mention of Kula Shaker, er, I'm still little shocked. But I'll get over myself - mantra "different strokes..." and say:
Am I showing my age?
I might be alone on the last one
Saloon was quite yawntastic though.
Saloon are lovely. And that track on your da' foo' mixtape is the shizzle.
are FUN !
most of these bands were fairly successful and derided because they were awful.
The Gun Club for me are the most underrated band ever, although maybe the god-awful mastering on their LPs on first release didn't really help them.
MT. ST. HELENS
to mention my boyhood heroes of indie rock, Marion.
What a great, great band they were.
absolutely right !
The Red Light Sting. An amazing Canadian band who have now sadly split up. Worth checking out if you like your punk rock spastic and intelligent e.g the blood brothers, ex-models etc.
GMDQ. (Gas Mask Drag Queens)
