(dirty souly bluesy funky stuff if you're wondering)
I'll write them on my list for listening to tomorrow.
like Uncle John & Whitelock. If you replace 'funky' with 'distorted' and 'scary'.
I'm compiling a SUPERlist of stuff to listen to and/or buy. I'm putting it in excel and alphabetising it and comparing prices on Amazon and play etc.
This is much better use of work time.
He's black isn't he?
Well Mick Collins likes 'em anyways! I played a northern soul tune by the debonaires and he asked me what it was. then about two years later at another DBs gig, I DJ'd it again and he came and asked again! This time he wrote it down!Eddie Argos doesn't like my DJing though. :)
are you gonna be DJing then? I'll come check you out!
it was just an excuse to relay a tired anecdote.
and the Dirtbombs all piled on to the dancefloor! It was great! I slipped in a Petula Clark track which has a thumping northern beat ('I Know a Place') and they didn't even notice and kept dancing!
but Acoustic Ladyland fit that bill I think.
worse than my Grandad. How old are you really?!
The Dirtbombs you'll probably like The Detroit Cobras, The Black Keys, The Soledad Brothers, The DT's amongst others.
Mick Collin's 1st band the Gories?
Their 2nd album I Know You Fine But How You Doin' is amazing.
also check out The Little Killers self titled album.
You liked it didya?
I have a pile of other albaums you will like miss flatmate. Give me a knock when you get in.
Bantam Rooster (who i think are some of the Dirtbombs or at least are related somehow or other, and i think are better)
Brainiac (maybe veering off a bit here)
