Got their album. It's wicked. Totally good.
Any views on it, or will this be another zero replies thread?
a dude wearing a 65dos tshirt in my local last night
although i refrained from winking at him and saying "nice tshirt mate" just in case he might have though i was a homosexual male.
i also saw lots of 16 year old girls
although i refrained from winking at them and saying "nice tits love" just in case they might have though i was a sex pest.
It shows post rock(If I can call it that) growing and diversifying!
Their new album rocks, and a song even got played on classic fm!
I may see them in Norwich soon
I loves them.
That makes me cooler...
I own 2 65days t shirts, get me.
Great ablum, yes. As good as fall of math? sadly, no...in my opinion.
Is a fan'fuckin'tastic song!
I heart 65daysodstatic.
They do run don't they. Theyre like the metal version of Exploisions in the Sky or Godspeed...
If you see what I mean. Total drum and bass in places too. But it all works. It all works maaan.
Wicked. I just wanted to rave on about them for a bit.
yes james that is the truth
but does that mean Mike was in my local??
in the ice wharf in camden town before somethingorother last week.
But none of the stuff I've heard has really excited me that much. Not sure why.
Great great band. Nothing they've released I havn't enjoyed.
65dos. i just don't get why everyone likes them AT ALL. youthmovies blew them off the stage on their tour.
YMSS were good. 65dos were awesome.
..is why when half the world claims 65 days is their favourite band and has been for the last 10 years or something, when we put them on in October 04 on no fucker turned up to see them even though their album had been out for a while and they were just as good then as they are now. Yet when we played at their ULU gig about 6 months later (ok maybe a bit more i forget when it really was) the place was rammed.
What happened in the meanwhile to make all the difference? This formula I need to learn so I can bottle it and give it to all the other bands who are really outrageously good and get nowhere.
By the way, the person that runs Monotreme, 65dos's label, is one of the nicest people I have ever met, and works stupidly hard promoting all the bands on her label. Be nice to her.
firstly the ULU gig was at least 1 london date after your one, maybe more, and i suppose because by that time reviews of the record, the Retreat! Retreat! single and the dates they did around it had filtered out to a wider audience. should also remember that it was a pretty cheap night out at a student venue, it's likely to have drawn a large crowd of people who went for this reason alone without knowing any of the bands.
twentysixfeet - in that order, as twentysixfeet have not released a CD yet but are the fucking best live band out of the three.
I remember seeing them first on, when they were a 3 piece (no drummer) with 10 people or so in the room...
now that they're popular i have to pay £10 to go and see them play. inflation, etc. etc. etc. etc.
great band though.
but for some reason last night I had a dream that 65DoS had split up.
i haven't even heard the new record!
...don't do much for me. Good idea, but I'd rather listen to any of their influences than them.
I just don't see what the big fuss is about. Many people who's music tastes I really respect love 65dos, but I hear nothing other than middle-of-the-road post-rock.
There's nothing bad about 65dos, just I have never had a moment when I have decided to put on their CD, to me YMSS are infinitely preferable.
