Fucking mentally good.
video on MTV2 and I was really, really impressed.
I can't remember anything else though. I'm too forgetful.
awesome if they didnt use that deftones 1999 screaming vocal
this band are good yeah
the album is glorious, and they are fantastic live also :)
Does anyone know of any live London shows coming up?
Their website isn't working for me at the mo.
To Buy A Gun is a tune, they were suppose to play the Charlotte tonight but I don't think they are anymore.
I don't need to justify that. They just are.
one of the most hilariously fucking bad live bands ive seen this year. throughout their set i was torn between leaving just to find something worthwhile to do and staying just to laugh.
it seemed like EVERY one of their songs went from an ok-ish radiohead-y verse, almost entirely performed by their backing track into these horrendously bombastic emo chorus, with the guitarists embarrassingly inapt screeches. the front man was quite funny, but only in being a very large emo cliche.
i suggest people dont listen to them.
there was a reason I didn't like them
a thread on these guys not that long ago?
Oh and I think they're awesome. Got my tickets to go see them in February. The album's brilliant, really eclectic. Was supposed to see them last night suppporting Armor For Sleep, but they had to pull out unfortunately.
These guys are megabadd, they would be better if the more emo of the 2 didnt feel it so necessary to yell like a "really angry" teenager over every single song.
Pitchfork review of their album is perfect.
the more emo of the two is the one that does stupid emo screams over the top.
despite if "Michael" looks more emo, "Daniel" has proved himself to be far more emo by doing aforementioned stupid screams over the top.
Why would I even give a crap what they look like? I happen to base my opinions on music by the "music" rather than which one of a band happens to dress more emo.
If you took music more seriously then I would have taken your rebuttal more seriously as it would have appeared that you knew what you were talking about.
Number 1: Blood Brothers are not emo.
Number 2: Screaming does not necessarily make you an emo band, but there is a certain type of scream that certainly is emo, if you want a good example check out a band called Idiot Pilot, they have ridiculous emo screams that add nothing too a song and ruin them entirely
Number 3: There is nothing of UNKLE or Bjork in Idiot Pilot, both of the 2 aforementioned bands revel in an excitement of exploring music and producing interesting and new music, Idiot Pilot are riding the wave of bands like Radiohead, adding nothing new themselves, and thus proving themselves utterly boring and needless.
Number 4: The image thing, i mentioned it because you assumed i knew about the image of Idiot Pilot and that it had influenced my decision as to whether or not i liked them, this is not the case, but you seemed to put so much importance on it that I thought you may have disregarded the poor quality of their music altogether. I couldn't give a crap what they look like, and that was the point I was making.
Yeah, i've listened to all the songs on the album, I bought it based on the Rock Sound review, it couldnt be a more wrong review. The Idiot Pilot screams are a half arsed attempt to inject emotion and "edgy-ness" into an otherwise dead and dull band.
"Hey Brian (or whatever they are called) how can we show that we are like totally heavy and stuff"
"I dunno Dwight (or whatever they are called) you could scream like a little girl that has not been allowed sweets."
"Yeah that might work, cheers Corey (or whatever they are called)"
Since when does good review = good album? Trawl the internet and you can find good and bad reviews for any album ever released, so there goes your argument falling flat on its flabby arse.
"The Spastic"??? You are totally LOL-core.
"The Idiot Pilot screams are a half arsed attempt to inject emotion and "edgy-ness" into an otherwise dead and dull band"
What a dickhead you are.
Well done, a well thought out argument that puts across your point very well.
I was drunk when I did that!
I still think you're wrong.
...we shall agree to disagree!
that the pitchfork review was rubbish. They did make some fair comments, but for the most part it was just one big comparison to Radiohead, when apart from some of the vocals, they sound nothing alike. They also displayed a rather narrowminded approach to the fact that Idiot Pilot's music is unique, preferring to treat it more as something confused. Also, they mentioned their age, when, if anything, I think that if they can make something so different and yet listenable at their age, then that's totally a positive thing.
Yeah, that review kinda annoyed me, but I am bias being a fan of Idiot Pilot I suppose...
you're totally not allowed to be bummed by pitchfork unless you're under fourteen or over thirty.
which says something about the writers really..
made me finally check them out and i quite enjoy them. i'd imagine this music would equate to an awesome live show. roll on bristol!
of to buy a gun, well brown! also the her space holiday remix is damn good as well.
nathan barley, haven't you?
i suggest you don't listen to alcxxk or feedmetotheforest. i tihnk they handle the live situation pretty well, filling the stage despite there only being two of them. on record they are sublime
