Good choice for number 1 methinks, though seems a bit early for all this.
but best album of 2005? nah, that's at 48.
great list generally though.
I didnt see it. I think im going blind
The New Pornographers
WARD - It might be useful for us to know
I love it. It rules and is nothing like youve ever heard
thats a bit wrong
they say Arcade Fire would've been higher had they not stuck it in last year's poll as well.
that's a shitty list.
i hate these end of year lists with stuff in there because it's half decent and had a big push.
take the LCD Soundsystem LP: it's good, yes, but it is in no way an album of the year contender. it didn't live up to Losing My Edge and Yeah at all, and i'm not counting the bonus disc as the actual LP thank you very much. the same could be said of Bloc Party, Boards of Canada and a few others...
no Feels, Days Of Mars, Wind in the Wires, Gold & Green, Smash, Fires in Distant Buildings, Broken Ear Record... i feel they're missing out some important stuff.
the new pornographers
the mars volta
I believe DIS is compiling a list of albums of the year. Which when it is published, half of the people here will take issue with. Such is the way of things.
is kinda rubbish, but im guessing most will this year. Ive really liked very few albums this year. At least it remined me of a few albums which I might of forgotten about like Smog and Two Gallants.
so how many have we got? i've only got 9 of them.
3. I worked out ive bought 8 new albums this year, and I only really like 6. I have downloaded many which Im currently too poor to buy.
it's an alright list. I would take it out to dinner, maybe kiss it at the doorstep. But no tongues.
19 of 'em. There's a reason why I'm so poor...
..still no mention of the Books or Deerhoof, surprising omissions for Rough Trade.
I own 25 of those. I didn't expect it too be that many
I'm surprised that The Kills second album got in there at all
...in declaring that I wouldn't wipe my arse with any of those records. Monumental amounts of pleasure.
Broken Family Band, the Clientele and Magnolia Eletric co in it.
Sadly no Marissa Nadler, Mi and L'au, Mahogany...
of those. Does that make me uber-cool or a massive twat?
