My hunch is with...
We Are Scientologists might raide their not too pretty heads...
they dont hav an 'M' in their name. you trying to spoil my pattern?
i just seen that the itunes ad on this page is Son of Dork...*sheds a solitary tear for the good of music and what it once was*
you two again...
killers headlined last year.
I'd suggest the Rakes, but they're already on tour around then. And duels are way too good.
Test Icicles obviously.
We Are Scientwits
The Longcut and they'd be ace.
Maximo Park already did it were they not headliners? If not I concur.
usually they choose bands that are just fashionable and void of substance so scientists then.......
The Longcut on Friday! Have you seen them Patricide?
Yeah I saw them on Tuesday for free obv. I have limited edition mp3s and everything!!! (keep thewarn alive!!!)
So the gig was ace. I was right next to the speaker but songs like Quiet Life and Transition and DVT sound immense. The singer is like a shamen alternating between chanting playing drums and tambourines while shoegazing. The bassist is a showman playing with a drum stick. It's my gig of the year so far (white stripes next week) even beating Bloc Party who wish they were half as technically proficient. They're definitely a musos band though. Lyrics aren't taxing and they have shades of Radiohead and Joy Div. People seemed to be getting off on it on different levels i.e the yob element bounced while the fashion bitches danced and the rest of us just watched. Good stuff.
I know you like fun Bamos so do I but not the kind Scientists provide bar that one that goes woah oh oh oh oh. I've seen them twice by accident.
I saw them in March in Cambridge and I thought they were fantastic but since then I've had a few people tell me they aren't very good so I thought maybe it was just the euphoria of being out with my mates (it was the day before my birthday) that made the night so good.
Anyway, I love Transition, Quiet Life and DVT so I am very excited about tomorrows gig... I just need to find someone who wants to go with me.
should be there! I told him he should go see them but he doesn't like them on cd so....Erm why don't you take a loose woman?
that woman from Atomic Kitten?
The last series of Loose Women finished last week. That makes me sad.
Well, if Homesick is reading this, I may have a spare ticket... i'm just waiting for my housemate to confirm whether he is coming.
generally any gig that can be described as inducing the above suits the looser woman or someone who gets wet at the site of a pedal being gently caressed by a man's foot.
That Atomic Kitten was on a hideous xmas ad last night. I was so embarrassed for her I cried.
sight not site the site of a pedal I don't know what that is.
today I'm promoting gramatically incorrect sentences like the above.
the same when I saw those Iceland ads. Your poor poor woman, how your life has fallen from those heady days of pop excess and Westlife humping...
a dead bear than any of those eejits. Still Brian's moved on to Delta Goodrem now who dresses like a 40 year old WI helper stuck in a 21 year olds body.
I was expecting a crisis of Daniella Westbrook style proportions from Katona so whatever makes her happy or pays for the white lines eh...
are internet forums safe from libel??
I thought it said 'are internet forums safe from lyle??'.
I was going to say 'of course not !'
if you want me to leave !
you can deffo stay Lyle !
I like your posts !
and your use of exclamation marks !
of my love for exclamation marks ?
Just wondering !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah I was probably going to try and go tomorrow, I haven't bought a ticket yet.
Bob let me know if end up with a spare ticket, otherwise I'll just book one tonight. :)
We arse irontits (yeah)
Maximo Park will probably headline, or Art Brut maybe?
In other news: yeah that iceland ad is actually the worst thing on telly, I don't even know where she's from, I though she just married that brian mcfathead person from westlife.
can you guess who she is yet. She is in fact a part of Atomic Kitten (act 1) she left when she had kids to pursue a blissful married life.....ah well. It's alleged she has a coke habit. I know all this and yet I'd rather eat baby badgers than read Heat gawping at all the blown up pictures of pretty women with "faults" and cackling crying "I knew Keira Knightley had a wonky marffffff" before rabbitting on about the ten different ways to fight cellulite.
Hmm so far it's safe to say I wouldn't go to an NME tour EVER
Ideal line ups?
tour is decent enough. A few quid to see four bands in one night. Depends on how you feel about them all though, I suppose.
I didn't know Katona/McFadden has a coke habit? Pure scandal. I thought she was little miss anti-drugs? And she left AK before she had kids, as she'd had enough of the constant pressure they were under. I heart Atomic Kitten, obviously more than I realised!
And Keira Knightley is beautiful. So there.
yes I know Bamos - I was just reminded of the time when some "ladies" on here were slagging her in what looked like jealousy. Crap actress with few expressions - yes but unattractive - no. It was just amusing that the Heat generation are being taught to criticise the wonkiness of someone's smile. WOW WHAT A FLAW
I suppose if LCD Soundsystem, The New Pornographers and The Rapture were all on an NME bill I'd go.
NME did a bill last year that LCD Soundsystem and The Go! Team and someone else good, I missed that though. LCD SS are incredible live.
thats lcd and new pornos
I was went to that but the doors opened at about 6 (I got there at about 8) and I missed beginning of The Go! Team, rarghh. Soulwax and LCD were superrr though.
I know that now innit. She must be short of work, bless. I can't imagine why, I mean, someone with her acting ability, charm and charisma... what's up with that?
I went to the last NME tour. Not great. It was Bloc Party, Tizer Chiefs, Futureheads and The Killers. FHs and BP were both good. I got my ribs crushed on those stupid railings right in the middle of brixton acadamy during Mr Brightside. Killers were awful, I've never seen such a boring live band in all my life.
How dare you. Andrew WK played a few years ago.
Shame on you for saying such a thing.
And We Are Scientists are decent enough. They're fun, and I like fun.
Not if they sound anything like the single i heard in my record shop yesterday...
I'd say :
5 o'clock heroes
Can't see the monkeys doing it now
around t'internet, and the line-up is as HeartbrokenStar said, but with We Are Scientists instead of Morning Runner, and (allegedly) Editors on the London dates.
The internet ruins every single surprise you ever had in your life, don't it? Nothings sacred anymore.
