Who's going? Who's supporting other than Birds of Paradise? Has it sold out?
might go see em at the joiners. convince me please people.
Glasgow show. Have seen them twice before and looking forward to this one. Great live, amazing guitarist, great frontwoman and ultracool rockchick on bass. That enough Jamie_Summers ? :-)
might go. Haven't listened to them a great deal but I reckon they're one band that would be just incredible live.
at The Garage on the 20th.
thing by them but I can do that date. Should I be going then?
you like crazy, shouty Japanese music then yes. You can take a listen here:
pretty_vacant, wishpig and I
actually....and the 20th as well but go to the one on thurs
on Thursday but it's my housemates birthday. I guess I could drag him along.
realise there were two dates...Mmmmmm.
65daysofstatic are playing on Thursday though but then I have seen them before.
if you need a gig buddy on Thurs, let me know.
Will do. I have quite a lot on this week though.
On a completely unrelated note thanks for introducing me to The Wrens. They are amazing. Fact.
They're playing again in Jan/Feb I think. Make sure you see them.
its ten squid, and i'm a poor student, so i'll see how i am moneywise if it turns out i cant blag guestlist. will probably go anyway tho.
i kinda assumed you were, liek, 43.
you evil little scumbucket. you'll pay, you'll pay.
for the Manchester show.
Forgive me, this is only the second time this has happened.
Can't wait! Most excited. Beecher and Narcosis supporting. I think Beecher are doing one of the London ones too.
I hope they play the songs with the groovy drum n bass beats.
going on my own in all liklehood but i dont care, its melt-banana :D
I need to go to one of the London dates. I could have got free entry to the Birmingham one but the £21 train fair kind of cancels that out!
anyone else?!? you got your ticket less_than_steve? The support is Birds of Paradise (who are amazing! mostly) and some other persons less amazing by the name of Clipper or something? (forgot)
Weatherspoons (go right outside of Highbury & Islington toobe for about 3mins, on right hand side of road = where i'll be!) toodles.
My bro is singer of BoP so wish i knew earlier so i could have got in for free. Alas, paid for Melt-Banana anyway.
i set yous a PM re: pre-banana/BoP beers!
on the internet that DJ Scotch Egg was supporting Melt Banana in Lahndahn. He has a funny name.
he plays a game boy through effect pedals.
It could go either way.
I will also be going to the glasgow show. Which hasn't sold out.
Glasgow is waaaay better than london.*
* but nowhere near as good as edinburgh
....that man said ^
London is where IT'S @, truss.
I will kill you :-)
short for 'trust me'? Those southerners and their lingo.
...nobody on here!
Damo Suzuki, I have just listened to Peking-O and it appears Mike Patton and Eye have ripped you off big time. Get onto it.
have Acid Mothers Temple and the Cosmic Inferno do your hip replacement live on stage at ATP. Those Mars Volta chaps would love it.
Tell Patton to go back to singing Lionel Richie covers as it clearly is what he is best at.
watch it you slag!
Hey Mike, I didn't know you posted here too!
That Melt-Banana song you were on when you said 'Melt-Banana' is top notch. You MADE that song man.
DJ Scotch Egg was great as well. My ears are fucked though.
aren't they ?
Hope DJ Scotch Egg does the Glasgow date as well.
Last time I saw Melt Banana they did a cover of The Damned-Love Song and made a damn fine job of it.
wait for tomorrow! Ooh today now! I think it's local supports all around ze country but I could be wrong.
Isn't local. He'll probs be there.
Melt Banana were tremendous. Much much fiercer than last time they were over. Great cover of Devo's Uncontrollable Urge too.
I hope they play that tonight! I shouldn't have read this thread. It would have been a lovely surprise. Now it's just lovely.
But then again i couldnt miss them really. Did it sound as if there were effects on the vocals at all? Chris said there weren't but may have been because of a lack of sound check
to go on the 20th.
damn essay deadlines though *shakes fist*
that going on to see on your own would spoil?
going to see on your own
loads of bands on my own and it's not as if the music changes or anything. Sure socially its better to go with people
i bet its boring like, pah.
i may have to start to talk to a stranger, just for the crack :P
But during the bands its ok.
there is 5 bands, well 4 and a performing artist. and its a 5 hour gig.
...on 20th November. The Garage
Bullet Union are supporting that night too.
vetoed the house guest list so I couldn't go to the Manc one. Bastards! Fortunately I can go to the Leeds one next week and Khanate are supporting there. Woo hah.
i didn't realise they were playing leeds. and khanate too!
i'm going to get my tickets on my lunchbreak today.
melt banana with help she cant swim and lots of shitty bands.
but melt banana :D, brilliant
on Tuesday. Week of Gigs ahoy!
If you’re interested, photos from last night are up:
Oh.. and I know you and pv were obviously MUCH more excited about meeting Cadd, but did you have to blank me COMPLETELY. ;-)
...and very cool photos.
Such a fantastic show. I'm still buzzing. Well worth missing the crimea for.
I didnt even come over and say hello. But I'm far too shy for any of this socialising lark... (I met wishpig!!!! she's, liek, famous)
result in me still feeling spaced out.
i am too you know
were amazing as usual, listening to their singles collection just now.
Lapsus Linguae were ok but not great.
Here's some photos.
they were beyond good, :D:D:D:D:D
but I saw them on Leeds on Friday and they were amazing. They didn't start until after 11 so I think lots of people were too drunk. Class Devo cover. Mr Commandercool, did you end up going?
On a side note, Khanate were not good. Really boring and not creepy like on the records i've heard. Probably should have been louder too.
I enjoyed Reth though. Even moreso when the singer insulted my friend's Pete Doherty t-shirt :)
