I'd forgotten how good this album is, ahhh, I love it when you rediscover something that's really great.
I was driving to Reading last night and brought that along. Going down the motorway with it blasting out and fireworks going off in all directions was pretty much orgasmic. Those drums!
I was only introduced to Pychocandy a few months ago. Despite sounding a little dated it still impressed me enormously. It is a record I expect I will continue to revisit. Good stuff.
great band !
but thats me.
you're wrong !
They did rip off BRMC a bit but I think we should let them off.
ripped off the VU as much as BRMC ripped off JAMC.
i quite like "just like honey" (?), but i listened through their singles compilation, and it seemed to have 2 songs on it, both delivered in an irritatingly lazy manner.
id rather listen to MBV thankyou.
You can kinda tell they're running out of ideas even listening to Psychocandy so it's no surprise they went downhill from there. Taken on its own it is a fantastic record though. And yes, they do rip off the Velvet Underground but then so does just about everyone. It's not their fault they were born a decade and a half too late.
I too would rather listen to Loveless, You're Living All Over Me, ...and Nico or White Light, White Heat but Psychocandy is still a great, great record.
just saying that all the fuss about BRMC ripping them off was a bit ripe.
with Wu-Tang Forever at the moment. For years i've been slagging it off as bloated rubbish, and it is way too long, but there are some amazing songs on it. Especially when Ghostface is on the mic....Impossible is incredible.
As for Psychocandy, I haven't listened to it in a couple of months, but its one of my favourites albums.
Also I don't think that rip off VU that much either. Yes they are clearly influenced by them and the Stooges, but its not that blatant.
