Best band ever ?
But that is all.
They were nothing special. At the time I thought his voice was amazing but it is pretty annoying.
Their first LP is a masterpiece in my view.
and "It Doesn't Matter Any More" is one of the great lost songs of the 90s. But agree that his voice gets a bit much over the course of an entire album.
Saw them live a few times, brilliant every time. Singer was a bit annoying though.
I saw them live many times in and around Leeds in the early 00's, they were always fun gigs.
I have that first album but I haven't listened to it for at least fifteen years.
Went to see them in about 1999 when they were supporting Shed Seven and I have to say they blew the sheds away!!
Both absolutely top tunes
Near Distance is a tune but the rest of their set was dire. Particularly the song that goes I'm on fiiiire and the one called Mr Brown.
Same with Every House on Every Street' and Casting Lady Shadows
But Near Distance, I Suppose, Traffic Jam in Memory Lane, India, Sharpen Up the Knives and It Doesn't Matter Anymore are all brilliant.
