Out tomorrow, streaming today:
i've not listened to anything else so far. Supermoon's on now, which is fine I suppose. That and red parallax (which were released beforehand) are both okay but wouldn't make it on a list of great 65dos songs.
Monolith was really good though.
the drum *sounds* are good but some of the beats are pretty repetitive. It jars having supermoon and asimov next to each other with basically the same beat.
On the whole though it's the best thing they've done since WWEA. So far. I'm kinda more excited to hear the second disc.
It didn't for me at first (relatively speaking) but I'm fully in love with it these days
it just wasn't frenetic enough for me, to be honest. 65 are at their best when the music is messy and relentless, whereas (and this is the harshest criticism I can give) something like Taipei sounds like Explosions in the Sky could have made it.
It just sounded like they were getting a bit older, which they should never do.
TFOM is still my favourite just for that ridiculous energy and freneticism but Wild Light is tying up with WWEA in second place at the minute.
or wait until I get the record delivered and listen at home on my hifi (which might not be until next week).
They were really bland and messy. I haven't liked their last couple of albums but they just plain suck on a big stage, weird given how 'big stage' their sound has become . . .
it's pleasant enough but lacking in any big changes in tempo. Thought the last track was about to go all Tiger Girl but then it didn't.
Quite fancy splashing out on the lovely looking bumper box set of the album, even if it's not their best, but then I would get really annoyed when I looked at the shelf and saw all the others on CD. Like I do with Takk.

they're so utterly firmly in that 80% they probably should've kept their mouths shut about it
well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.
