Easily amongst the best live acts I've seen.
And again a couple of years ago at another church. Both were utterly stunning, the first show is still probably my favourite gig of all time.
And can vouch for it being incredible.
In a really small venue in Cork in 2008. Still one of the best gigs I've ever been at.
Also, at one point, a photographer got up in the pulpit and ended up dropping what looked like a very expensive lens off the side. The collective silent "oof" of the hundreds of people who saw it was also very memorable.
Yeah that was great. It was indeed fucking freezing. Everyone I was with hated Roly Porter, I thought he was fantastic.
Incredible both times. I saw them play the London church gig mentioned above, but also at the EITS ATP, which was phenomenal. A short set, but so intense.
superb, beautiful stuff....a bit weirdly timed at around 01:00-02:00 am...a few were dropping off...Stars of the (heavy eye) Lid...but yeah, great....Refinement LP has only got better with age
Both at the Hare and Hounds in Kings Heath Birmingham. Brilliant live.
Got a ticket for Nottingham this year.
See you at the bar.
see ya there homey
But it is the day after my stag party. While it won't be a monstrous LADS LADS LADS type affair, I can't decide whether SOTL the next day would be genius or a disaster.
I was at ATP and I couldn't enjoy them, as I was standing up and hammered already.
at the Barbican I'd totally go. I saw Winged Victory for the Sullen there...blew my mind.
Not to everyone's tastes though.
I had a background in listening to post rock and instrumental music. Left feeling like my brain had been gently fried in honey. Was deliriously high afterwards from the music alone.
Ever since then I've loved them.
