Forget Lush reunion - Belly are back! U.K. Dates in July
at gigsandtours and also available via O2 priority/Ticketweb if you prefer etickets.
Too rich for my blood.
Hopefully they'll turn up at Glastonbury or something.
The sound was very dodgy early on for the first two songs including Slow Dog which I love. The sound got better eventually and I really loved the evening. I've seen Tanya Donnelly do a few gigs alone but waited over 20 years for this gig. A great fun night out.
leaving a gig and having the option of buying a bootleg t-shirt for a fiver outside. I bought one.
sounded like a guitar was out of tune for the entire first set
sound was far from perfect for Super-Connected.
but second was pretty much perfect I thought. Also, more intervals at gigs please.
and it was brilliant throughout. The band and audience both seemed so genuinely happy.
had sound problems at the start as well - bit of a theme it seems
band really, really enjoyed themselves & the crowd was great too
well worth the £'s would go again
(last time I saw them was 21 years ago supporting REM in Cardiff & I think this was better)
we didn't get angel though :-(
and it was absolutely wonderful. A brilliant, brilliant gig.
....Agree about the Long set, early start and interval concept being a good one....
They seemed to be having a great time and the crowd was excellent I thought - well into it and no chatter.
Super set - my highlight was The Bees which I think is a heartbreakingly beautiful track from an under-rated LP. In fact I imagine I must be one of the few to rank King above Star.
8.5/10 overall for the gig
Always loved King more than Star.
as Star is I always listened to King far more over the years.
but it never soars like the more 'pop' songs on Star. I think the production on 'King' works against it, leaving even the strongest melodies falling a little flat.
