Von Bondies - C'Mon C'Mon
Len - Steal my Sunshine
Weezer - My Name is Jonas
Donna Summer - I Feel Love
Not many people seem to like the band, but this song I have never heard a bad word about.
nobody likes them!!
Twist and Shout
he thinks the drumming is terrible
Shackles (Praise You)
Tainted Love - probably both the Gloria Jones version and the Soft Cell version, but not the Marilyn Manson version...
You think my gran likes The Rat or My Name is Jonas?
Expand your horizons, you fucking bedwetters.
(in before "it's not my birthday")
She has shit taste in music, mate.
Born to be Wild
In the Air Tonight
Can get in the bin along with the rest of the Motörhead discography
This Must Be The Place?
whats not to love about that
and the verses.
BICYCLE BICYCLE BICYCLE BICYCLE RACE!
Freaking belter of a tune
even if it is only 4 chords
yes, most univerally liked songs have a 5 chord minimum
Awful band in modern times, but surely everyone likes this song?
See also Blue Monday - New Order
easily the worst on Siamese Dream.
deluded people right enough
but I imagine 1979 is probably their most loved song
so universally liked that Pitchfork have taken to posting news about ELO: http://pitchfork.com/news/61352-jeff-lynnes-elo-announce-new-album-alone-in-the-universe-share-when-i-was-a-boy/
This would have been unheard of 15-20 years ago, when ELO were basically thought of as some crappy band your parents listened to in the car when driving down to the seaside
I was there with the rest of them, shouting “come back on, ELO, and carry on playing!"
I feel like I'm alone in really not liking that song. It's probably the vocals.
There's at least 2 of us
ja, surely? Right?
I mean the only people that don't like it are those have been over exposed but find themselves moonwalking when they've had a couple of beers right?
you mean "Don't Stop Til You Get Enough", then most definitely
"THIS CUNT'S FOR HIRE!"
La Mer - Charles Trenet
What a Wonderful World - Louis Armstrong
Maybe overfamiliarity and overuse in film, tv, ads etc makes some people dislike those examples but I reckon that's the type of stuff that gets as close as is possible to cutting through different musical tastes to being universally liked.
I would have said stuff I'd consider 'perfect pop songs' like Be My Baby, River Deep Mountain High, The First Cut is the Deepest, God Only Knows - but I know plenty of people who wouldn't 'get' those tracks at all.
